My mother put me in swimming lessons when I was roughly 7 years old. I would say I was pretty good the following year. I think it's really important if you're around a lot of lakes to teach your children at a young age. Anything could happen.

I agree, that is why I taught my daughter to swim, it is important if your child is to ever be around water.

I think at 3 or 4 because my mom had me in swimming lessons as a toddler.

My best friend is 30 and she still can't swim, she is just never really cared about it, nothing to be embarrassed about. Thanks for the comment.

I went to a swimming school but did not learn to swim there. Then I learnt it by myself when I was almost 12... It was when I could be in enough deep water to float properly... : )

I started swimming when I was 10. I had really bad asthma. I started my girls much earlier. But they are still not great at it.

My daughter loves swimming, she learned at age 4, My sister has asthma as well and it can be very bad, good luck with it. thanks for the comment.

If I remember correctly, the time when I officially began to learn how to swim was when I was around five years old. I was close to drowning many times in my life...
