Is there a new mum's room in your company for expressing breastmilk?

Mothers are encouraged to breastfeed their babies, but it seems to be a little bit more difficult for working mothers. Some companies do provide a room for the new mothers to express breastmilk, but some don't. I'm glad that my company actually provides a new mum's room for the mothers to express breastmilk. There is refridgerator, sofa, chairs and washing basin. Simple stuffs, but it's suffiicent for the mothers, I suppose. I find it quite cozy expressing breastmilk in the room, also I get to know more mothers in my company, then we can always share our experience and encourage each other. How about your company? Is there any special room for expressing breastmilk? How the new mothers are going to express breastmilk if there isn't any?

Hi there, thanks for your response. Yeah, I think my company is quite considerate. I wish I can get longer maternity leave, mine was only two months.

The answer is a big NO. All the women in my company are all old, above 43. The men are also old, above 43 too. It seems like old folks company.LOL

when I worked for the State, they did have a room for it, but since I now work in a client's home, well, no, but then again, I don't have children, I'm in my mid-50's and not likely to have a child (don't even like babies) its really a non-issue for me That doesn't mean I didn't encourage people to do it because it is better for the child when they had one.

Hi Kaka, It is nice to hear that your company is providing such good facility. In this part of world, it is very rare to find out such an office. Those kind of offices are providing babysitters too so that mother can work and baby will be safe in babysitter. In my office too there is no such facility available but they were kind enough to give permission to reach lately and leave early. I think that also works well.

That is great, I have not seen that anywhere (I am not a mother so have never been in need of such support but I can appreciate how helpful it must be) I would hope as a new mother I would have the opportunity to stay home during this time anyway but I realize some women may not have this opportunity, and I may not myself when it comes to it. I would love to live in a country where there is more of an understanding that work is part of a real life, rather than work is everything and people have no right to a life (which is how it feels to me where i live in America)
