I am not from Luzon area but happened to be on travel during the hit of typhoon ondoy. I was at the NAIA T3 during the storm. My flight was cancelled and were not able to go out from the terminal for the rest of the storm because the flood is coming everywhere. I wasnt able to make a good sleep at the airport since we didnt have a good treatment in there. Why I have said so? We dont even have foods coming from the airport administration or shall I say from the CEBU Pacific administration. I have queued for hours in the restaurants to buy for some foods while my sister was watching our baggage. I was not able to fall asleep and suffered a great health disorder then. Got a head ache cause by stress and over fatigue. My BP got checked from their clinic and even add up to my burden. They have given me a medicine for high blood or high pressure. I think it didnt help. I dont know. Until I got to where I should go. Being strucked in the airport is not a joke without full support from the administration. But my mind was cooled when I saw on TV that the victims of the typhoon in some areas of Metro Manila were that horrible than what we have suffered from NAIA T3 during the typhoon. My condolences to those who have lost their love ones and friends. Lets have a greener earth to have a better life. A life away from calamities and destruction caused by the mother nature.

ondoy's wrath - photo taken at Austin street, Provident Village, Marikina
hmmm.. during the wrath of Ondoy, i was in Marikina.. and to be specific, i was at Provident Village. we were at the house of my cousin in Austin street (corner of Bismark) at around 12nn of sept.26. flood water is already knee deep. we went there to raise some stuff so that flood waters won't reach them. at around 1.30, the parking lot wall from the back of the apartment broke apart from the strong water current that rushed in all of a sudden. we had to rush to the 3rd floor, and fortunately there was a spiral stair leading directly to the 3rd floor. at around 3pm, the whole ground floor was already under water. and water is still rising rapidly. we were extremely lucky that the apartment had a 3rd floor. people from other houses weren't as lucky. they had to go straight to their roof just to get away from the water. they had no food until they were rescued. and take note.. the first rescue team that got in Provident Village came in at around 4am. more than 10hours after the whole thing started..

The acts of God can be thought of as a reminder for us. Sometimes we do forget Him. But I am thankful also that you were lucky guys to have a 3rd floor on that apartment. Ive also seen Miss Reyes on their rooftop trying to survive the wrath.

yeah.. often times we do forget.. hmmmm.. on her rescue, i think it was around 3-4am when richard's group arrived with a speedboat and 2 jet skis (i think). most of us near the gate actually thought they were rescue teams coming in to get the victims.. turns out they only took out christine.

hello tkleyr,You mean, if I was part of Ondoy destroying the towns, villages, and places, NO WAY! I was at home doing mylot when it rained hell hard and then i watched the news about people lossing homes and morale because of the damage that had brought the terrible ondoy. i feel sorry but guilty at the same time because i couldn't do anything, but now after a phone call from my brother, i finally get to make a short lived difference, am going to helped packed and distribute goods to people in Laguna, most specially to those people, i feel bad for them.

I was with my family and comfortably relaxing that fateful saturday. We were very much calm and never worried tht flood was coming our way since our place was really that elevated already compared to other places in Metro Manila. But to our dismay we discovered that water had already started coming in from our first floor and the water rose very fast. Our of our panic we decided to leave our house and transferred to our neighbor, which is just about several houses away from our house and they seem to never felt the effect of Ondoy. Despite that experience we still consider ourselves lucky because the water that came in a flash also left our place that fast. By evening the floods receded already and the next day, we have returned back to clean up the house. I consider myself lucky as we did not experience the plight others have experience staying on top of their roof for several days and for some lost their homes and properties. Our loss was minimal to the point that only books and some important pictures were all the victims.

I was in Cebu at the time when the typhoon struck in Luzon area. I used to be very active before in responding to calamities since I have worked with the rescue unit for about 13 years. Part of me wants to go there but I have a job to do here in our area.

I'm not part of it but I can feel what my fellow Filipinos felt. It was very devastating and the funds to help them is nowhere to be found. But I'm also glad that support from Filipinos around the world shows their love to the Philippines. My community here in the US donated plenty of money. I think it was $100, 000 in my state.

My sympathy with you tkler, I also seen the news about those who got stranded on the airports but your right, compared to those who suffered worst, your still lucky that you were all safe at the terminal. I was in Angeles that time but the rain was non stop the whole saturday, there was no electricity so we just stayed inside and sleep all day without knowing that manila was suffering full devastation from Ondoy.

Thanks a lot! if you cant see the news on TV, you cant seem to imagine how tragic the bagyong ondoy is. Maybe you are just complaining that you have no electricity during that time and wishes that it may return after a few while. Even in the airport we cant seem to imagine what is happening outside and just realized it in the morning. We are just really lucky that we are their safe and never had that worst experiences.
