Don't be hypocrite, admit to yourself that you also lied when you were young, correct? Whether it is a white lie or a heavy lie. I am just curious at what age you learn how to lie? Why did you lie? Did your parents found out that you just lie to them? With me, as far as I can remember, I lie to them when I was 18 years old. My classmates will have an overnight swimming in one of the resorts in our area, I'm sure if my parents will know that will just have a swimming, they will not allow me, so i lied to them, i told them that we have a group project and we have to finish the project as soon as possible. So they allowed me, I bought some props or some materials just to show them that i will really be making a project.lolIt is just cute to remember naught things when we were still young. Anyway, they did not find out about it. What about you? what is your experience? share your insights..

Your discussion reminds me of my childhood and some interesting stories. Perhaps when I was 8 years old, one day, my mother gave me some money and let me to buy something to cook. After going out of the house, I headed for a snack bar and bought some snacks with the money. Then, I wnet home and tole my mother that I was so sorry to lost the money. Of course, my mother did'nt believe in me any more sinch this time.

Hahahathat is really naughty, i wonder how your face look like while you are telling your Mom that you lost the money even you did not and you just buy something for the money. How did you convince your Mom that you really lost the money? did she gave you another amount to buy the item or she was the one who buy the item already? ammm...that is really naughty, I'm sure yoiu can't control to laugh or smile now and you remember it..

Of course not. In fact, she didn't believe in me anymore and then she went out to buy the goods in person.

I remember I was in elementary school. Probably 4th, 5th or 6th grade. I wore glasses. I don't think I really needed them, because I kept losing them. A girl at school stole my glasses and I was afraid to tell my parents. I told them I left them at school. I lied for several days. Finally the nun saw the girl with my glasses on and recovered them for me. Of course, she gave them to my parents. I had to 'fess up that I was afraid to tell. I got my butt spanked for lying - my mother stressed the fact that I was in trouble for lying, not for losing the glasses. That lesson stuck with me. She stressed to me that I could tell her anything and even if she were upset, she would be more upset if I lied to her. I instilled that same value in my own children.

lolyou should have told your mother about it, maybe you did that, she did not hit you at your butt. That is a grat lesson. But i know how you felt that time, you are just afraid, i have also almost same experience as that. My mom also hit my butt for lying to her.

Well at least you've learned something that your kids can now learn from.

rberon1985 well I do not have any cute things but I found the little blue bible that my mother kept hidden and read it, and 'never ever told her that I had. Family secrets kept like that are worse than just telling the truth. When I read this crap' I felt as if my dad had become a monster to me. I was never close to him to begin with, but finding out that this man who professed to be a devout christian fathered two children ou t of wedlock with the young girl who later married his own son.My mom asked me if I had gone against her wishes and read that little blue book of poison and I lied, I was 20, and s aid no. You told me never to touch it. I really wished I had not touched it.but I knew at last why my mom refused to allow my dad to keep those those two girls in our house and why my half brother and his wife did take the girls and raised them with their own children. My dad did this extramarital crap while he was married to a second wife. My mom I found out was his third wife, not second. why keep these things secret as they will come out anyway.

Oh, what a sad story, this should not be kept by your mom to all of you. you have the right to know all these things. Its good that you have found oabout this, though you lied to your mom. You found out the real story. I think your mom is afraid that time to share all her kids. Maybe she do not want that all of you will be mad with your dad.

Of course I do lie and if I swear I do not..It is also a lie and who would not believe...I lie for fun and because I get a thrill out of it. It excites me knowing I lie and the other never notice it. It is a great feeling whereas if it is about a big lie one may feel guilty after realizing it is wrong after all. I lie at the age of 6 and I refuse to follow a command from my auntie and I just say I already done it when in fact I never do it. But, during those ages I could say that I lie for fun to escape punishment. Lying at the younger ages I could easily admit it easily while at older ages it is hard to be caught as one know to take more alibi and so on. I rarely do lying now as it breaks any relationship as it develop mistrust and dishonesty.

lolwhat a funny experience, it is really good to remember naughty things when we are still young, at your part,it is very early, around 3 years old that you started to lie, that is so bad, and you were even caught by your uncle, with me, i was able to keep it as a secret and was not able to tell them until now.

I think that's quite funny.. Me.. when I was about 16 or 17years old. I got to lie to my parents about some money I've spent for renting game console. I told them that I spent it for buying some books. Unfortunately, I've no book, Not even 1, neither in my rack nor in my bag. LOL, that quite ridiculous that I did a trick that was so easy to be recognize as a lie. that's all. hope you understand the point.

I can't remember at what age i was when I told a lie the first time. I do try to never lie even though sometimes it is harder in some situations to tell the truth , in the long run it hurts less than having a lie come back on you later. I do know my mom would have swatted my butt but good if she caught me in one for sure. I do know it was a young age for my kids when i would hear I didn't do it .

Are you sure you didn't lie at a younger age? Just kidding. It just seems incredible to me that you were already 18 when you first lied. I think I was younger than 10 when I first lied, but it was just a minor lie. I said yes to my parents when they asked me if I had already done something. Can't remember exactly what it was they wanted me to do. Maybe it was my homework.

Hi rberon, u took so long to graduate in lying! LOL. Well, I guess I lied when I was much younger. Elders used to ask whom do u like, and it used to be very difficult question for a 5 year old. And I had to admit a person whom I never did like, but I felt everybody wanted me to say so. I regret that lie today. :(

Oh god, I was so young back then. As far as I can remember, it was in Grade 1 or 2 I guess, where I started lying. I'm not sure though. But I know I'm quite young when I started it.

I remember lying when I was only about 4 years old. I was quite lazy and didn't want to do things so I fabricated stuff to avoid doing them. Children are not the innocent creatures we think they are...They are little devils/angels in disguise....

hahaha, seems like you and i had the same experience, but i didnt go swimming, insted we stayed overnight in my classmate's house and get drunk the whole night.
