we aren't celebrating it until Friday. Have you ever done that? Had a special day and put off celebrating until another day. We have been together over 13 years..so I will celebrate whenever I get the chance!

Hi ersmommy1, First of all, Congratulations for coming this far! It just shows how successful you are in your relationship. I share the same sentiments. Our wedding anniversaries from the previous years (we celebrated 10 years last April) were also being celebrated during weekends, not at the exact anniversary date. Today, we were also supposed to celebrate the 42nd Weddng Anniversary of my parents. And all of us are having our hands tied to do other things like our jobs and work loads. I guess the most important things is how you held on to those 8 years, the struggles (if there are any) and sacrifices you were able to give; the love you shared ; all the times you share with each other... Just reminisce the good old times down memory lane...it will help you go through, with or without the celebration. Here's hoping for the best and again, congratulations! May both of you have more years of happiness!

Happy anniversary ersmommy! Yes, I've done this before, especially when it comes to birthdays. As far as our anniversary goes, my husband and I don't celebrate it in the traditional sense. We have other ways of celebrating our special day. Happy mylotting!

I do have one question, why did you guys decide to postpone the celebration? Perhaps it's because it falls on a weekday? I wouldn't mind postponing celebrations, as long as we both remembered that day to be special. It's great hearing that you have gone a long long way than most of the married couples these days. I wish the both of you longer years together, longer and better years. Good luck! Congratulations!

We've had to put it off for many reasons. Usually it's either we don't have a sitter (wich we never do) or no money for such an event. Kinda sad, but I hope in years to come when the kids are older ect that we will be able to do so.

Any special day we have, anniversary, birthday, whatever, is always celebrated on a different day, unless the day happens to fall on a Sunday or hubby's other day off. Our anniversary falls on the 7th of May and one year we didn't celebrate it until the 26th because that's the day a movie came out that we really wanted to see.
