How often do you clean you refrigerator?

Not often enough that i for sure. I am a very clean person, I clean my house daily but the fridge is one place I neglect. It is not dirty but I don't clean as often as I should either. I will normally just wipe it down as I see the dirt or spill. This is normally down once a week thanks to my kids spilling their juice or kool aid as the get or put the container back in the fridge box. Do you remember back in the day when cleaning a fridge meant defrosting the freezer and that meant heating a pan of water on the stove and and placing it into the freezer and waiting for the water to melt of the ice?? I remember my mom doing this like once a month and I am so glad that I don't have to do that with my fridge LOL..

I quiet clean my fridge regularly. I think it’s a good way to avoid disease. As I know if the fridge is not clean, some food will be spoiled. We do our shopping weekly. Sometimes when I see the fridge is almost empty, then I use the chance to clean it. Luckily I don’t need to do the ice. The freezer compartment defrosts automatically. Last Bank Holiday I purchased a refrigerator, Beko CDA 539F on my local Currys shop for a cost of £239.99, £60 less than the original price.

ummm...this is embarrassing, but we just clean it out once a month. It's not a fun task, and it just doesn't occur to us.

Every time I go grocery shopping. I can't stand a dirty fridge. I'll clean it so I know how fresh everything is.

I think cleaning the fridge once a week is ok but if you're quite busy maybe once every 2 weeks would be ok. we should always keep our fridge clean to make sure that no bacteria will grow on the food that we store in it. Regular defrosting of the freezer will also save us from consuming more electricity.

i must have my frig clean any leftovers more than a day later are discarded

I do not have a specific time table to clean our refrigerator. Usually when I find it necessary then I clean them. Of course, it also matters on my schedule. There are times that I need to clean it but is quite busy to do it.

I think my mom who's always like to clean the fridge. Like you, I would only re-arrange those things and throw something out, but she would take care of the cleaning further. Sometimes, it will be once in a week, but it also depends on how bad the fridge needs cleaning!

I clean my refrigerator very often, Offcource it has to be cleaned where we keep food, fruits... etc

yupp my mum cleans the refrigerators every week .usually at the end of the week when the firdge is totally full . i help her out sometime but i dont like that much. i just like to go to the fridge whenever i am hungry not when i want to claen it lol

Actually, why does a refrigerator need to be cleaned once per week or twice per week? The food you put inside should be into bags and boxes, it doesn't get dirty. I only clean it if something spills out, otherwise it's just ok as it is.

yes..i have a regular cleaning schedule of my refrigerator. i dont want thick ice in my freezer. i dont want my door freezer got stuck because of very thick ice. and it also lessen the coldness of the refrigerator. when this happens, it causes big electricity bill...and all the left overs which are 2 to 3 days in the ref also has grown bacteria in it..which is harmful to our health. so make a habit of cleaning refrigerators regularly.

Oh my gosh, when I saw this title it reminds me that I have never clean my refrigerator when I brought it for one year. Maybe there are millions of bacterials get their green card of my ref. I think it is time for me to do some tough problems to expel these bad things of my ref. HAHa

I really don't have a schedule either. I just make it a point to clean it when I know it needs cleaned. We generally have a weekly clean out of leftovers though so we don't have to worry about things spoiling. We hate wasting food so usually whenever we're way too lazy to cook or whenever our fridge is rather full of food, we make sure to actually go through and heat food up. Secondly, we try to keep the fridge itself clean by wiping up any spills we have as soon as it happens. The longer it stays in there the longer it has to get gross and sticky and everything else. We know that the longer you wait to clean it the harder it is to clean it and well, we don't always have time to really do that much cleaning.

I probably should clean it more often than I do, like you, if there are alot of leftovers in it,I'll clean it out and throw them away if they are too old. Once in awhile I will wipe it out with some disinfecting spray, especially if something has spilled, I especially don't like having a smelly refrigerator.

Actually it is my husband who is really very diligent in maintaining the cleanliness of our refrigerator. I'm really blessed to have him as my husband. Those chores that I can't manage anymore, he is the one patiently and efficiently doing.

I empty the leftovers and crap out of the fridge on a weekly basis. However, as far as a through cleaning of the fridge, I don't get to do that nearly as often. I think we are able to do that about once every two months or so. The reason for this is that we don't use a lot of things that are able to leak in the fridge and all of our produce is kept in containers that will not leak out into the fridge so it does stay relatively clean the majority of the time.

hi bebs, i never clean up my regregirator,lol:) my mom cleaned it in my house, and she does not clean it often and regularly, she would clean it when she thought that it was time to clean it. i think it is a good habit to clean the refrigerator, for we store our food in it, we store what we like most. and we eat them, it is so important to every home.
