Do you think a training video for newbies is a good idea? Why or why not?

In this age of modern technology, do you think a training video on the basics here would be more effective that the rules and guidelines they ( cough cough) read? I myself think we should make one up, and see if it improves the various problems we get from the new people who join here! Plus it would be so much more convenient for them! Maybe in a few different languages also? what say you? tdemex

I think it would help ALL of us and not only the newer users. There are still users with a huge post count who have not reached payout or others here for three years in the same boat too. A video would be much more immediate but would they be bothered to try the tips and advcie given in it? So many arrive here from other sites that work in a different way and they continue to use the method they were used to using and have no will to change Would a video move them to change their ways? So nwo the next question is... who is going to create it?

it is the better way to explain .... so mylot give some video or start vedio discussion ... in specific post... so user can also load video help vedio to user... but prevent spamming... do not allow marketing videos.

hello aunt miss yah. if you remember i did create my own mylot promo vid but a tutorial vid is a way different version i might use the mylot characters in the movie for the tutorial instead of the movie itself. bah! i should just finish with the video then i could make for the tutorial.

hello tdemex, I am good at making videos but i lack proper applications or special effects features. but i like the idea, unfortunately this might even further delay my long delayed mylot the movie vid which is still in the making as of recently.. i don't know about different languages but i think if the video is spread and others can copy and translate it with their own language then that would be fine. i have checked some videos made during the time where mylot was issuing a promo video contest. i did found some tutorial video with borat and britney spears, which i could say it's crazybut probably i could made another approach..i think. besides, what kind of topics to be tackled if were' going to give newbies a training video.

Well I'd go with all the most common violations, then follow up with the most frequent questions , like whats the star, and the number in it for ....... you get the point! but I'd really like to incorporate it in the joining the site as a mandatory part of the process! Rather than a voluntary thing! tdemex

hey, why so serious, i am actually. and what the heck is wrong with volunteering anyways, you want to really put that into issue then tell that to the admin. as for me, i am done talking to them these video stuff. otherwise, they would have approach us again in terms of making videos such as the one you were saying in your suggestion.

Personally, I think videos work way better than a training manual. Aren't guys more visual anyhow? So it would make more sense for them. That's my 2 cents, at least.

I think some people would like a video very much. Too many languages out there, but perhaps one with subtitles that flash by very, very slowly?

Only if it could be in their language since there are so many here that come to mylot and speak little if any English. But, I think it's a great idea!

Well so far most seem to like the idea! It probably should be in English! I didn't mean all who join here don't read the rules but there are so many I'm still learning my self, in fact just had a post deleted last week! Me Bad! But I sure would like to help the new people here at least learn the basics and in simple terms! Have a great day you two! Both my friends by the way! tdemex

I really don't think all of us who join are lazy to read rules. The rules sometimes are too long and too complicated that by the time you are halfway you forgot what you read first. I would really appreciate a video and I think it will make more sense to everyone and will also help even though you are not very fluent in English. I think the majority of us are here because we have strong opinions, experiences to share and something to offer each other while trying to make an honest penny.

Yeah i agree with you tdemex.Excellent idea! But i also was wondering if newbie like me would have time to read it. (In my case, a friend name terry thought me more about the guidelines before i finished reading it. lol!) But yeah, videos can be more exciting and good way for newbies to learn more.

This is an interesting idea, and I am sure that there have been people in the past who have had some posted on youtube. There are a lot of Websites out there that have been known to do this, and it is a plus for sure. They could probably benefit a lot of the New members in here if they could do this, or someone had something posted in youtube and it was noted where it could be found more for sure.

I thought it would help. some sites put a code word in the vid and make people submit the code before they can join! I sent this post to Admin about a month ago, and even told them we had people willing to do the vid for free, I know this will surprise you , no response! LOL! T-----

I was thinking about some process to make newbies to get acknowledged with the rules while signing up. And then here you started this discussion just one day ago from that! Maybe the waves hit me :) I like the idea, and went to check some videos Letran suggested too! (some problem there I heard?) It would be more convenient.. if it's interesting cause I get easily irritated by videos sometimes. Language may be English only, for start. So far... ...not all newbies come with ill intentions! Someone will have patience for sure!

The latest in some new sites is you have to watch the video and during the video they give you a code, you will need to enter the code before you are allowed to join the sire! It seems to work much better than reading guidelines! As far as the language goes Mylot is an English site! tdemex

I think it would be a nice idea. It would help people understand easier and would be quicker and easier than readng the TOS rules. As long as the video was kept short and sweet I think it would ba a fantastic idea. I also like that it could be in different languages. This is a really, really good idea. You have my vote.

some newer sites are making it a requirement by putting a code in the video to verify you watched it before they let you join! This is a good start! t----

Sounds good to me. I'm sure it could be set up so that people couldn't begin to post until they'd watched it through at least once. Even if people didn't take it all in, something would stick. Anything that helps to get the Mylot modus operandum across has to be beneficial to all of us, not just the newbies.

I think it's a good idea because it will be beneficial not only to the newbies, but for those who have been in the 'hiatus' mode. Normally, when they come back after a few months, they will ask the same questions to catch up especially about why they are losing their earnings. So, if they are lazy or simply think that it's a waste of time to dig for more information, then, they have the options to watch and listen! I was actually going to post something about this, but with a different idea...

I think its a great idea and will definately help other people. For people it is normally easier to learn with the assistance of visual aids. A video is the perfect video aid. I have done many trainings on Youtube and they have helped tremendously. I have also made some training videos myself and they too have assisted tremendously for others. You have to keep in mind what kind of audience you are making these for. That way you can adjust your trainings to your specific target group. Good luck and I am sure you will succeed.

ya you sound very right the audio visual aid helps us in learning faster and reducing the process of learning and remembering to a short span this helps in developing more concepts at lesser age and thus increasing the knowledgebank

Another site many of us were part of for a couple of years had a video and I think it was watched, in preference to reading the tos. Since English is the only language allowed in submitting script, and since people can SPEAK and understand English better than they can write it, the video should be in English. Good idea - but can you sell admin on the idea?

Ah! Sell it to the admin? Well give it our best shot! I think it would help them out also, less policing of the site for one! It'd cut down on the most common violation, posting links for profit! And a few others, if we can convince them it would save them cash! I don't see how they could refuse! LOL! But I've been wrong about many things before! We have a couple of people who've volunteered their services! I'd just be a matter of changing the script to get it on the site! Here's hoping! tdemex

I think that would be a very good idea. It would surely help the newbies like me and for the senior ones, too ... they can come back and refer to it from time to time. Some people prefer listening than reading. So, why not give it a try? That would surely help various problems here.
