Our beautiful, elderly cat has been having sever health problems, he was starving himself and yesterday the Vet finally found a tumor in his gut, they tested for cancer and didn't find that, so the operated, at this time we don't know if he made it through the night or not so we have to call in an hour, he's always been a strong cat and we would love to keep him with us for another year or two. But we'll know in just a bit. I'll let you all know. One way or another he has had a very good life.

Aww, I hope your cat survived the surgery. Another year or two would be wonderful, but it's good he had a great life thus far. Let us know. Hugs, Karen

I really hope that he survives the surgery. I lost a cat 4 years ago which I'd had for 10 years, it's never easy losing a family pet, it's like losing a member of the family. I have five cats at the present, or rather four cats and a kitten. The kitten is more trouble than the other four put together! But he's worth it

Sometimes it is hard to know what is best for those elderly cats and dogs that we love. I hope things go well with you kitty.

I am so sorry! I hope you don't lose him but I know you don't want him to live in pain. I will hope for the best outcome! Cats are so precious, I would have one if I wasn't deathly allergic to them.

Oh savypat! I hope he makes it! It's a shame when we have to say good bye even if they did have a good life.

I am happy to hear that you cat is recovering. It always hurts my heart when I hear of cats that are not well. Just some advice for some of you on here, do some research on Apple Cider Vinegar and Colloidal Silver for pets. These ingredients are fantastic for humans as well as pets and it might help keep your vet bills down. I give my cat colloidal silver water and she drinks it up like crazy. I make it myself because it is quite expensive to buy on a regular basis. I have information on my website about natural health remedies if you are interested. I hope you cat makes a full recovery.

Yes, It is one of my blogs that relate to natural health. I do not have information on pet health specifically but it is all relative. Another thing I forgot to mention is to do some research on parsley water for pets. That is another thing I give to my cat and she loves it.

Sorry to hear about the problems with your Cat my friend, and hope that he is improving and will be OK. It is truly hard to have a pet that gets sick, as since they are like our children it can put heavy pressures on us as well. Wishing you the Best.

I truly am sorry, savypat...that your dear friend of sooooo many years, is having surgery, but truly am glad that it was not cancerous! It is so difficult when our "little friends with a fur coat" are ill! I am always so afraid, when they get on, that they are experiencing pain, of some form, and not able to relate it to us! I just, in the spring, lost my little friend, a dog, "Tosh" at 14 years, and I truly prayed that he had NO pain! Here's prayers for your little friend to rally...fast...and be truly healthy. Have a great weekend!

I'm glad you're looking after your cat so well. I too have a very sick pet and I'm treating her, but one thing I'd never do is put a pet to sleep. We have no right to end any life. They have their own karma to resolve and by killing them we will interrupt that process and create bad karma for ourselves. So I hope you look after your cat to the end.

Well I believe that no animal needs to suffer pain if there is no way for them to recover so I would put him to sleep if that was the case, if this creates bad karma for me then I will bear it. I think even people should be offered this solution to pain with no hope of improvement. Just a difference in view point.
