When you're sick, why are you such a baby?

My wife had ask me this question before. Even if I had a common cold, she felt that I was such a baby when I am sick. It is probably that I found out that I can order her around and does not need to behave in a mature, respectful manner.lol Or its just the best time to use sickness as an excuse. Damn, hope my wife will not read this. Why do men such babies when they are sick?

I think it's not just men who are babies when they're sick, I could attest that I am a woman but I am really like a baby when I'm sick. I don't know, perhaps it's because I'm strong when I'm not sick and when I am sick I feel like it's my right to be the one taken cared of that time. I could remember my mother always complaining how we, her children would be such babies even as adults when we're sick. She didn't really baby us around, but I guess we can't help but be babies once in a while. Nothing wrong with that, I guess. I mean, anyone not feeling well would like to feel being taken cared of once in a while ,right? Though, I don't think my parents would really tolerate such for themselves because when they're sick, it seems that they won't rest, they can't help but still go to work or do something instead of just lying down in bed. But there really are times when they too can't help it and their body just somehow gives up on being strong and they in turn need to be taken cared of. I don't think anyone would like to be sick. Neither does anyone want to be feel so dependent all the time. But it's just that our body can't help but feel so vulnerable and thus we want someone to take care of us. Whew. The topic just reminded me that I'm not strong all the time. Now that it's raining outside and I'm inside the school waiting for my next class makes me want to go home and just sleep through it all. If only I am less responsible. I tell you, it is really tempting.

My excuse is that when I was younger, my parents made a lot of fuss when I was sick. They always made me feel like a baby. So I kinda expect that when I am sick even now. I try not to do this for my kids. I always tell them that if they are sick, they shouldn't be like a baby. They should eat and drink their medicine on time, so they get well. But, I think their mom has different ideas.
