There are 120 (or something like that) terrorist suspects from the Cubin prison that is being closed down. There is a nearly emtpy prison in a town in Illinois who would like to take those prisoners in. Supporters say it will bring more jobs to the area that needs jobs. Those against it say that it is putting the state in danger by bringing more attention to it. Would you want these suspected terrorists all being in prison in the state that you live?

I live only a few hours away from this prison that they are debating on putting those prisoners in. They are saying that it will create more jobs. I think it's scary. So people have more jobs, what happens if someone gets loose? Then what? We have a terrorist in the heartland. I think they should have kept the prisoners where they were. I disagreed with closing it down in the 1st place

I have just heard about this on the morning news...CBC/Canada...and TRULY am not sure what I think! As you question...would it make you a target for more terrorist attacks? Fingered, somewhat...but the other question is that they have not targeted Cuba! I understand they are touting the economical side of this propostion, and the increase in employment! It's a very difficult question to give a "yeah" or "nay" as it is NOT in my back yard...therefore, my answer is not qualified! I am sure emotions will run very high over this issue! And I truly hope, that those affected have the opportunity to voice their opinions. Have a great day..Cheers!

As I said, Lamb, I really am NOT qualified to have pertinent input here...I just was wondering what my reaction would be ... IF IT were my backyard? And I guess my question would be...will the structure be re-inforced, and security be that of the Military guard? As you are aware, our government seems realatively lax about immigration & terrorists! (PS...I am Canadian...not denigrading your govt.) Cheers!

It wouldn't bother me if they were imprisoned in my state, really. Prisons are supposed to be able to hold evil people -- if murderers, rapists, etc can be put in prison, why not terrorists? I doubt very much it will bring on terrorist attacks...it's not like terrorists need an excuse to attack the US! They will attack when they can no matter where terrorists are imprisoned.

its always difficult and challenging to make such decision but when the government decides its always final. but in real sense having a terrorist around is not a nice thing and you everything to fear;.

I would want Terrorist imprissoned in my state. BUT! i think some rules are to harsh, when i was in grade school some girl wrote some little note on the wall and my teacher called police saying it was torristic threatining because it said " i hope this school die's" she went to juve for like 2 months. i think some people take things to far but others take them to softley i think there should be a set list of things that can and cant be tollerated

Putting a large number of terrorists in a place where these guys would probably hate or attack is a really good idea. It could create more jobs for a rural area, good for the economy. Or put lives of people in danger. You could call this a gamble. The guys in charge of this should think carefully-I don't recommend sending the terrorists to Illinois, maybe put them in an island prison instead?

No, but who am I to say. The politicians who think it will bring jobs to their sector are all for it. Of course these cowards will never visit the prisoner or ask the townsfolk what they think, the little people do not matter. I say put them in general pop and see what happens. The fact that we are wasting American tax dollars is ridiculous, what happens if they are found innocent or worse, aquitted. Do we let them live next to us and then look the other way when a fertilizer truck backs up into the driveway of their new house that the government bought them as an "I'm sorry we doubted you" gift. Please!
