I remember being in high school and going to the thrift store with my mom and being embarassed but now that i live in Georgia the thrift store is like Macy's they have this day called "half off day" its the last wed of every month everything in the store is 1/2 price (clothes only) and the parking lot is packed every single time it must have been this ladies first time she asked me where is the dressing room! lol i almost fell out laughing like lady we are not in a the MALL! I find everything from hollister, old navy, baby phat, gap, i mean if you look hard enough you can almost find any brand you like! I have even got BEBE shoes in great condition they are some of my favorites. Where else are you going to get BEBE shoes for $3.99!!! I get a whole outfit for under $5 thats insane! I really am addicted and the money i save is probably in the thousands. A trick i do is iron or use my steam iron on all the clothing and hang them up and nobody even knows i go to thrift store, Im a little selfish its my little dirty secret(hahaha)

I love anything that is going to save me money. There are several thrift stores in our area and yes our family does shop there. But it doesn't stop with just that for us. Yard sales are my favorite indulgence. I will get up early on Saturday mornings with one or both of my children and a small budget and we will come home with all sorts of treasures. I think the best thing that I have ever gotten would either be my daughter's first Power Wheels car (bought at a yard sale for one dollar, the people said it didn't work. There was a wire that wasn't plugged in, it worked fine and still did when we later sold it in our own yard sale for 20 dollars). Or it is my computer desk that looked like it had never been used that I was able to buy for 20 dollars instead of the 200 plus dollars that they charge at the retail store.

Yard sales are great too! Unfortunately they do not have too many of them where I live, otherwise I would surely go much more than I do now!

to save money and sustain my shopping urges,I go shopping at secondhand stores.what I didn't expect was I got designer items for dirt-cheap prices.I got a Marc Jacobs trench coat for $3.20.I got a D&G dress for $3.I got addicted to secondhand clothes shopping because of that.

oh ya, i have been thrifty before it was cool and a necessity (for us and others). i have several favourite thrift stores and have gotten brand new stuff with the price tag still on it and i have also gotten antiques and vintage wear there for next to nothing. i have been going to thrift stores for years! my daughters love going there because instead of paying $40 for one pair of jeans, my teen can get several pairs for $20! (they have half off days too, on everything in the store!) and the ones i go to even have change rooms!

hi cupcakes I have also shopped in thrift shops and got some really great bargains. desk chair for four dollars, just a few 'minor repairs and have a great chair that I am using right now and not spending bushels of money on. Clothes are sometimes iffy as I am a large short lady so have to have large sizes with petit lenght, jackets sweaters you can get some nice things for very little money.
