Friday Fish Fry Anyone?

Man... a friend of mine posted on FB about going out for a fish fry. But alas I don't have the money to spare to eat out & I have to work anyways. Boy that post has got me craving fish fry. Love the fries/chips + tartar sauce too. YUMMMMMMMY!

I LOVE fish fry! When I was married we'd go out Friday's to the local saloon (we were way out in the desert) and have their all you can eat fish with hushpuppies, fries, cole slaw, etc. I don't like cole slaw so my hubby would take mine and he didn't like hushpuppies so he'd give those to me. 
Most fish fries use Cod, which is delicious. I buy it when it's cheap and fry it and eat it with cocktail sauce--which is just ketchup with horseradish, add enough to make it as hot as you want it. If you just love the breaded fish you can get some frozen breaded fish or make your own. You can make the chips by buying seasoned steak fries.
I haven't gone out to eat for ages, too expensive! I sure miss those fish fries, though!

Now that's something else I have not had in a very long time... Hushpuppies!
Thanks for the tip on the cocktail sauce though I'm not fond of horseradish so I don't know that it would just be easier to buy a pre-made container from Aldi's.
I miss eating out too and with hubby's schedule he will only have off on Fridays for a few more weeks other wise we'd have to wait til his next schedule change. But I work when he's off, so who knows maybe there's hope yet?

Sorry.... see the desire for that Friday fish fry is just overwhelming! Even if it was take outs ya know? Just cause the kids are sooo antsy in restaurants and all.

Hi, do you believe Friday Fish Fry? lolz... it is just something got into your mind and make you want to eat it. Anyway, if you eat something else that you can then this crave will go away for a while. Try to eat something now and u will not be hungry

Is Friday Fish Fry a restaurant? I have never heard of it. Although I would hope they'd have dishes other than their namesake, "fry". I'm not a fan of deep fried dishes - I believe they're unhealthful because of the amount of fat used.
Deep fried dishes are acceptable only if the cooks use vegetable oil and the like (which are mono-unsaturated fat, instead of its worse kin: saturated fat). But in restaurants and fast food places, you'll never know what they use (unless it's a high class restaurant where you can choose how you want your dish to be cooked).
