I think I spent about $100.00. I made a lot of home made gifts which had saved me a lot of money. I am still in the process of making a couple of more things. I have a lot of baking to do and am hoping to get it done by Friday night because I have a lot people to see this week. I have cookies to make, candy to make, fudge to make and cake bars to make. I am also going back to school and this is my last week before winter break. I think it is great that you were able to shop little by little.

Baking is not hard if you can find an easy recipe. A lot of the recipes I have were passed down from family member to family member. I have some easy recipes if you are interested. Baking helps get me into the Christmas spirit. Fudge is easy to make and so are the cookie bars.

I'm afraid to venture on a total. I would have to say probably $1200 so far. But that is for 3 kids and various family members and my husband also got me a laptop this year. I have wanted one for so long. We went a little overboard this christmas. But we were trying to make up for last christmas not being great and the fact that their father has been away every other week since june for work.

Thank god!!! I was beginning to think i was insane and that id spent too much! Yes last year was pretty rubbish for us as well i have a good job which pays well but i had to leave my job for 5 months last year right before christmas due to taking my badly behaved sister into my care! I then obviously had two kids to buy for instead of one! Also we rented a new house this year at a wopping 700 pounds per month and the landlord decided that he wasnt going to do the repairs!!! we had no electricity for 6 months!!! And the stress that was put on me was immense it also burnt a hole in my pocket paying to take him to court!! But i have prevailed and its going to be a great christmas this year!!! hope yours is too!! x

I have spent about $300 this Christmas. The adults in my family don't exchange presents unless they are hand made and under $5, we only give presents to our own children. I have two grown children that I splurge on and that's where my money went. I wish I could spend thousands but I can't and they would begin to take Christmas for granted so I guess it's just as well that I can't!

If I did the math, I think I would wind up in the $300-$400 range. And keep in mind, I only have a FEW people to shop for, too! The family I exchange with is really small and close-knit. I just always go overboard, and that tends to be my main problem. lol.

Im starting to think im really bad now!!! Ive spent three times that amount and im only buying for 2 kids and 4 adults although my son and brother are pretty spoilt by me! but my mother also spoils my son aswell so he does get quite alot at christmas people may say its bad to do that but he is very good and he never gets much throughout the year except for special occassions so i always make the aception
