A Christmas Carol - was anyone else disappointed?

Granted, I did NOT see this in IMAX, and so maybe that was the reason I was slightly disappointed, but me and my friend ended up seeing it right when it came into theater, just because we were bored one night (and yes, I am probably the only 19 year old in the world who watches Disney movies in the theater..But that's ok. LOL.) Anyway, it was pretty much a re-hashing (with "special effects") of the old Scrooge story. Which has been overdone in my opinion. Overdone to the point where unless a new movie (like "A Christmas Carol") adds an original and imaginative touch to it, it's really not all that interesting, if you ask me. The only "funny" part I thought was the weird, fire-y ghost/spirit. He was an interesting one, that's for sure. What were your thoughts about this movie? Did you see it in IMAX or without IMAX? And did you think that Disney could have probably spruced the movie up a bit, and made it more original/interesting, or is that just my opinion?

Honestly I haven't seen it. I don't think I'll be able to bring myself to see it. I love A Christmas Carol. It's my favorite holiday movie, I love to watch as many different versions as possible at the holidays. I've even seen 2 versions where the "Scrooge" character was played by a woman (Cicily Tyson in Ms Scrooge and Susan Lucci in Ebby) -- they were both really good movies. But this new version, I don't know, I just can't get behind it. I can't get excited by it. I'm so not interested.

There were no surprises. I pretty much know that movie by heart and it was almost word for word the same movie as the original just in computer animation. Parts of it were even boring, and parts of it were too scary I had my 5 year old with me and it frightened him. There were some cool IMax effects but they were not enough to make the movie more excited. Don't get me wrong I like the movie, I love the original, but there was nothing new brought to the table with this re-make.
