Do you know any models?

I recently found out that one of my good friends from high school is now a model for Abercrombie & Fitch's sister-store, "Gilly Hicks". I was shocked to find this out! It's extremely weird to me that everyday people can become models. It just seems..out of this world. What about you? Do you know any "models"?

Hi, Maezee! Yes, there are some girls from my high school who have managed to make names for themselves as models. Some even have grabbed the 'Miss' title for world category and some are very active in modeling. They are quite famous in my country and in several parts of Asia. It's a huge transformation on them, but not everybody can be a model. One of the girls who I have known since she was in Elementary School was such a messy girl and a bit tomboy once he he... but when she was growing up, she was suddenly interested in modeling and beauty contest. She got the talent and hidden beauty, and the brain, too.

When I was in my late teens and early 20's I did some runway modeling. I did runway work for a chain of petite stores, that no longer exist today. It was difficult to get modeling jobs as I am only 5 foot 1, so it was really cool that I had that job. It was short lived, but I can actually say I was a professional model. I also went to some modeling classes taught by a professional model who did a lot of magazine work back in the 80's. She was retired at that time and was only like 33 years old. Tell your friend to have a back up plan it is hard to sustain a modeling carreer as you get older.

Many everyday people are models...just not supermodels. I modeled for a few years as a teenager. I did one commercial, a few photoshoots, and a few runway shows. At the time I got one of my friends to try it as well. It just wasn't for me...what made me not want to keep trying at it was the way the modeling industry is...focused on fashion and beauty, and I'd rather look at how perfect imperfections are rather than perfecting imperfections.
