It has been said that the longer you gurgle listerine the whiter your teeth will be.And believe me I have tried to keep it in my mouth for about three minutes but somehow I have never been able to go beyond that record. What about you ?

I am not sure how long I can. But i know it is not 3 mintues. As the stuff is strong and messes with my acid reflex causing my gag reflex to kick in.

Probably about 30 seconds. It's pretty painful! But the pain makes it feel as though it's working. I wouldn't suggest keeping it in your mouth for too long - maybe there is some danger in that..

I use Listerine basically every morning, an the longest i think i have keep it for maybe ariund three are four minutes. I always try to keep it long but never keep it for long, but i see people keep in longer than i do.An i always wonder how do they do it,but i never ask any question on that. I don't know about that saying the longer you gurgle Listerine the whiter the teeth, you have to take good care for your teeth to have them white visit the dentist regular so that your teeth can be white.

Oh that stuff is awful hot, I used to use it all the time, and I got used to it, but I don't think I've ever been able to keep it in my mouth for more than a couple minutes if even that long..haha. Its hot stuff...

hmmm may i just share my experience in using mouthwash ,, i just notice my tongue was always dry worst instead of having a fresh breath it make my mouth dry and somewhat smelly so i consulted my dentist. My dentist explained to me that not all mouthwash is good u have to use the brand that fits you, i was also warned that if u feel a bit of dryness when using such product better change cos its not fitting to your needs... so what i did was stop using the said product (dnt wanna mention the name/brand)for a month and presto the smell went out...from that day on i started to change my usual brand.. a much lighter flavor of mouthwash.

Ronnyb, you have given me an idea I will try it. I have read that it is Hydrogen Peroxide whitens the teeth not Listerine.
