Died on Christmas Day

December 26, 2009 7:06am CST
I just received a message from one of my close friends. She informed me that the father of our co-teacher, Maricris (also a good friend of mine), died on Christmas Day. Yes, he died yesterday. I immediately texted Maricris to find out if the message I have just received is true. Well, she confirmed the message and it really saddened me. Her father and mother are not in good condition for the past few months. Maricris has been through a lot for the past few years. Her mother was diagnosed of cancer few years back. She went through a series of chemotherapy and a whole lot of hospitalizations. She was victorious... but only for a while. Her cancer recurred and has been in the hospital few days before Christmas for her last chemotherapy session. I don't know what to do or say. For now, I will just offer a prayer for my friend Maricris and for her family.

Hi dolce vita: that's simply a very sad moment to your friend and her family. It's really sad specially at this moment of the year. In my opinion it's not necessary that you plan a lot of words, I think that you have to simply be with them, to make her know that she can trust on you and to pray for the soul of your friend's father. for me that's enough. Sometimes it's not necessary to say a lot of thing to make a person know that we are with her. It's really sad and that makes me think about how lucky we are for having our families united one year after another. That's a God's blessing in my opinion so we must be happy for that. Thanks for sharing with us this sad experience. Hope you and your frienda re ok right now. Hope you are having a nice time. Merry Christnas/ Happy Holidays. Take care. -Alvaro.

all we have to do is pray for his soul, it's GOD will,so we can not do anything to extent his life ...you mentioned that her mom is a cancer patient? well,my mom is cancer survivor, she's been diagnosed for how many times, and also went through a series of chemotherapy and thanks to God she's now cured! with the help of those chinese in the chinese temple, but we strongly believe its a God will,he used the chinese people. it's a miracle, miracles do really happen if we believe in GOD:)

That is so sad.....and you'll have to let them know that so many are thinking of them. I also had someone die on Christmas eve that I thought highly of...she was a wonderful person...a gift to the world and was only 66!

O...I'm so sorry about your friends sad condition. And it happens during holiday season which is a bad timing. IT should happen some other day but life works in mysterious ways and we can't do anything to alter the hands of destiny. I just hope your friend will be able to hold on to during this difficult times.

I am so sad to hear that. It is a terrible thing to lose a loved one, and it gets much more terrible when it happens on the day when you should be celebrating. I'll pray for Maricris', her family's recovery, and her mom's cure. I hate cancer. It is the ultimate killer. When you get old, it's either cancer or heart attack that's gonna kill you.

My condolences to you and her family and other friends. No time is a good time to lose a friend or family, but it seems it hits hardest on the holidays.

That is so sad and I am very sorry to hear that. I will pray for your friend and for her extended family also. It is hard to find something to say during these times. I think for you to be her friend and be there for her, is best for now.

It's sad when people say that kind of stuff and it just breaks your heart. I don't like when people tell you that someone passesd away. You would probably eventually fnd out somehow. But it's usually the hard way.
