I was just wondering what your child(ren) thought was great this year; even if it was not something they really wanted? For Paul it was the GeoTrax airport that my brother got for him. He's already worn down an entire six pack of AA batteries in it. I think I need to go to the store and find some more rechargables for him. He also loves his Bounceback Racer (another toy that he has already worn out the batteries in). And, with a little bit of his Christmas money he bought a toy helicopter thing that he really likes as well. For Kathryn it is the Razor scooter that Santa Claus brought for her. She also loves the big girl makeup that Michael and Elizabeth gave to her and she is tickled pink with the Barbies that she got from both my mother and my mother-in-law. I can't wait to hear about the things that your children thought were awesome this year as well.

My daughter loves her zhu zhu pets that me and my mother searched so hard for. I personally think the toys look too cheaply made. She is having a blast with them though. She also likes her train set and her barbies.

I've actually never had the opportunity to see a Zhu Zhu pet in person because every time I was at the store they were always sold out, so my daughter didn't get one this year. However, I'm glad to hear that your daughter is impressed with them since you had to search so hard to find them.

There was actually a member of our local cheapcycle that had one for sale yesterday because her daughter had gotten it for Christmas and she is too young to play with them. I responded to her that I was interested, but I haven't heard back yet.

It was a very hard task to complete. My mom and I sat outside toys r us for hours before they opened just to get them. We had to do that several times just to get them all. I refused to pay the prices people were charging on ebay for them. I hope you get a chance to find them for your kids soon.

My little one is still in the mode to like all her gifts . . . she just likes the idea of getting gifts and unwrapping presents! She got excited about everything she opened - even clothes - but the one thing she was not so hot about was this small lite brite thing which she already has, from my sister in law (her aunt). I'd say her very favorite gift this year for Christmas was the Leap Frog Sing Along Read Along Early Reader Set . . . it has like 12 little books and a DVD to go with them that help them to read. She has watched that thing a zillion times already - she loves the music and some of the silly characters. But now she's back to her obsession with drawing. If she got a stack of blank paper, she would have been so happy about that!

well i guess for my 12 year old it was the sewing things she got from her grandma (although the sketching set that she got from us is definitely a close second). as for my 16 year old, i am not sure. while she likes her new housecoat she didnt get stuff she wanted (like a cell phone and a laptop) but her father and i refuse to go into debt just for her!

I can completely see why you didn't fulfill your 16-year-old's wishes. I don't think that I would go into debt for one of my children either. The sewing machine that your 12-year-old got sounds like a wonderful gift, I'd really like to have one as well.
