We live in times that we do not normally have the time to buy veggies, that need to be pealed and then cooked. Nobody likes soggy veggies in any way, so the cooking is not really the problem. How many of you buy frozen veggies? Is it as healthy as our normal earthsmelling raw veggies, who need to be washed and peeled? I use a lot of frozen ones, but on sundays i really try to do it, as in the olden days.

I only buy some of my veggies frozen. I buy frozen corn and peas. It seems that that is all. I also freeze new beans to make minestrone (I don´t like it so much with dry beans)and fava beans. In both cases I buy them, take them out of their outside skin, give them a boil and cool them quickly before putting them in plastic bags. The rest of my veggies come either from the market (not the super), or from my own garden). I live alone so it´s not that difficult to do this as it´s always small quantities. I also cook always from scratch. That helps me a lot to have company for diner, as all of my friends feel my cooking is a real treat. For that same reason I am taken out for diner at very good restaurants which are not on my budget. My friends sort of "pay" me that way. I don´t think much on how healthy my cooking is, but it tastes wonderful. I love to cook and I love natural ingredients. Take care!

Will i be invited for dinner, as well. You are sooooooooo lucky to have your own little garden with veggies. Enjoy every moment in planting and eating them. Now, that is what i call HEALTHY. It is good to hear that your friends take you out to dinner, that makes you a real special person. ENJOY.

Frozen vegetables are just very slightly less healthy then fresh. They are usually frozen at their peak so they are very healthy. I have been buying a little more frozen vegetables then before, but that is because we are on a diet where we eat a lot of soups, but I am using a lot of fresh vegetables as well. The frozen ones hold up nice in the soup.

*Raises hand* I buy and use them all the time. I really, really do not like canned produce - I find canned vegetables really soggy and they don't taste right to me. I buy frozen peas, corn and also mixed vegetables. For anything else, I still buy and prepare fresh. Most of my vegetables get steamed (cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, etc.) so the frozen ones are convenient for quick meals or for adding into soups and other recipes.
