Do you have fascination for any special kind of Towels.

Hi friends! As we all are aware that besides our clothes, our own towels are equally important for us. Do you prefer to use special types of towels to dry yourself after bath or with any kind of towel? Some of us would like to use fluffy, cosy and long towels. Some of us prefer light color towels, while others would go for fast colors. Some would make do with any kind of towel be it small or otherwise. Some of us won't like to share our own towel with any one else. What about you? Please share your choice and do you keep your exclusive towel for your ow use? Thanks in advance.

I always prefer to have my towels very thirsty and absorb water hungrily.I never share my towel at home. They are all of good quality cotton in subtle shades. My towels are changed every third day.

Hi Dpk...What your discussion brings to my mind is filmy heroines and heroes ....like Karishma kapoor,Priyanka chopra, and even Ranbir kapoor giratting aorund in soft fluffy, colurful towels, and perhaps you got your inspiration after watching one such movie........ Well in my place its summer all around, and immediately after bath we start sweating...So we normally use thin cotton towels which are usually white and which have small prints of flowers, animals etc in different combinations. They are easy to wash and maintain....I usually buy a different variety for each one in my family so that they will all stick to using their own towels...he..he...I there by encourage all my family members to use their own towels all the time and thus they will keep their hands off my towel which I like to have for my own exculsive use...Dekha..what an IDEA sirjee......

Paper Towels - A roll of Brawny Paper Towels (Pick A Size)
My towels are used for specific things. I have long navy blue towels for my body, green towels for my hair and baby blue towels to wear around my shoulders when I set my hair. But I also use paper towels too.I love to use them to clean and to dry my hands.

Hello Sara! Good Evening! I think navy blue colours is one of your favourite colour, therefore, you use navy blue towels for your body. I can comprehend you using different types and different colours of towels for drying your body, your hair and your shoulders. I think the idea looks good to use different colour towels. Thanks so much for sharing your views. Deepak

I think everyone should have his/her separate personal towel. I like only soft towels wish are long and fluffy and gives pleasure after bath.As for color, Towels in violet or purple color very much attract me...but I am not very particular about color as long as they are soft and cossy. Btw.. I really don't know what makes you ask this question and I really don't know why I am answering it....

Hi deepak I do not have any special fascination for any towels. But I like Bombay Dyeing towels. It is so soft. But for drying the hair, I prefer cotton based towel and not Turkey Bath Towel. It is light weight and absorbs the moisture quickly and easy to wrap around the head to absorb the water in hair. I do not like to share my towel with other nor do I use others towels. I have two towels. Turkey Towel for drying the body and cotton towel for drying the head.

Hi Vathsala! I see there are more than one fan here in my discussion, who likes Bombay Dyeing Towels (I wish Bombay Dyeing people read this discussion to see that they are getting free publicity here..........). I can understand you using light weight towels for drying your head and it is better to have two towels for two different purposes. For that matter, like you, I also do not like to share my personal towel with anyone else. Thanks for sharing your views. Deepak

Whaat? LOL. Deepak what is this? LOL. Well, right now there is Bombay Dyeing sale in Big Bazaar. So I think Bombay Dyeing towels fascinate me. LOL. The question you wrote reminded me of Julia Roberts in Sleeping with the Enemy. Are there truly people who are particular about such things? But having personal towels is fine. We have them like that in our home. But I've never bothered about what type of towel it should be. Anything will do as long as it helps me dry. :)

HI Vandana and Rose! I did not intend to promote any big company nor I've been appointed as the their Marketing manager...........lol! Bomaby Dyeing towels are good, no doubt about it. Yes, it is true that some people are very particular about their towels. I would like to have big, soft, fluffy and preferably a white towel and would not liked to be used it by any other member in the family.

Hi Deepak! I do a a separate towel. Everyone in our family has. I think that's the way it should be. I am very particular about the towels I use. Mine is soft of medium thickness and more or less a large size. I also user another smaller one to cover my hair after wash. So, you can understand that I am very sensitive with my towels and combs. I carry them with me while traveling also. What about you?

Hi Mimpi! It is good that you do have a separate towel and the thick but soft towels are the best bet. Of course, you need a separate towel for drying your hair and having another towel for hair does help. In our home also, everyone has different towels and we would rarely use each other's towel. However, when going out of station, to keep our luggage minimum, we may carry one or two towels. To you question - I also like to have thick, soft and large towel and if you allow me choose, I would go for a white towels with some funny cartoons character on it..........lol! Thanks so much for enriching the post and joining us after a very long time. Deepak PS - Did you check the first page of this discussion, if you not, please see.

Hello dpk262006, I am quite particular about this topic. I like long towel; the one like a blanket and I only use my own towel. I won't share my towel or let others to use mine, not even my husband. About the color, I prefer blue or pink and I always choose brighter color for my son and husband.

I have not given towels much thought until now! I do like thick, soft and fluffy and I like drying towels in the dryer, which I know is not environmentally friendly but they come out so soft and fluffy! I hate using brand new towels before they’ve been washed at least once; they just don’t dry! I can’t use fabric softener because it ruins my washing machine so the dryer is it for softness! Another thing that’s paramount when it comes to towels is cleanliness; they have to be clean and smell nice!

Hi Paula! You do not give much thought to towels, yet you like thick, soft and flufyy towels, it shows you do have a preference...........lol!. Yes, I agree with you that using absolutely brand new towels could be troublesome, as they do not feel soft. Yes, clean towels are always preferred by everyone and as soon as they are looking dirty, they should be sent for washing. Thanks for sharing your views, I regret for the delayed comments. have a nice day! Deepak

Hello Ck! It is great pleasure to see you in my discussuion. Ha! Ha! Ha!........beech towels are really wonderful as they cover most parts of your body. If you ask me, my choice is also of white towels, nothing can beat or outshine the immaculate white towel. You and your husband sharing same towel means that you have great level of understanding with him, however that does not mean that a perosn like me who uses exclusive/separate towel, does not love his partner........lol! Thanks a lot for sharing your interesting views (Thumbs up).

hello deepak! yeah and i am happy to be back here...just sad that i was not able to make it to be the first responder...i'm quite slow in typing. well actually i think we just get used to it, sharing of towels coz sometimes when we sleep in other places, i just bring one towel coz its difficult to bring many things...hehe and another reason is that...hmmmm its difficult to wash towels! haha since i am the one doing the laundry, i know ho difficult it was...hehe but anyway, its also fine if you don't share towel with your wife, we all have our own preferences, and actually you are like my mom, she don't like to share the towel with my father but she do share it with me before...haha

Hello ck Does not matter ckyera that you could not be first respondent. For me you are the first Respondent to my post because the user who has answered at the first position is not in my friends' list. So from my friends' list you stand first. I agree with you that if one is going out of station etc., it is wiser to carry a single towel because carrying heavy lugguge does not serve any purpose. I feel that if you can wash one towel, you can wash the second one too.............. Your mother appears to have great chemistry with you. Have a nice evening! Deepak

Hello Deepak Oh yes, I do love my towels. Paper towels for quickly wiping up kitchen messes as I cook, thick cotton bath towels and clothes...warm colors for the winter months and pastels for the warmer months, and in the kitchen, light-weight cotton or linen for drying dishes. A huge beach towel is nice for when going swimming. Karen

Hi Karen! I think your idea appears very good of using dark colours for winter months and light or say pastel colours for warmer months. I believe, most of the times, it is winter at your place? Paper towels have their own utiliity and they are easy to carry and use and could be used anywhere for cleaning purposes. Thanks a lot for enriching the post. have a good day! Deepak

We have four distinct seasons, but winter or chilly weather seems to last longest. For around 6 months of the year, the trees have no leaves. They come out in late spring and are gone again before the last of October. But we do have the warmer months, too...so really, I enjoy having the various seasons. Karen

Hello, my dear.:-) I couldn't get out of a shower without a towel to dry myself off and, it is a very personal thing for me that I don't even want to share it with anyone even with daughtwer and hubby (for hygienic purpose). Call it selfishness but I hate it when I noticed that my towel has been used by someone else.. I'd throw it right away in the laundry bin. I prefer, long, fluffy ( soft and thick) towels and they must be white! My reason for its being particularly non-colored is I can see clearly if it is already dirty or were washed thoroughly. Enjoy your day. :-)

Hello eureka! Nice to see you in my discussion. You are like me or should I say that I am like you in the sense that we do not want to share our exclusive towles with our family members, hygiene factor is one of the most important causes, of course. Yes, you are very right that light colour towels give us a chance to see, how dirty it has gone and given the choice I prefer using a white towel, which can tell you dirt accumulated on it. Thanks for joining and enriching the post. :-) Have a nice evening! Deepak

I like to use white towel only, I do have different colors but I prefer white as it transparently show cleanliness. I want to be long so that i can wrap it to my whole body. I am the only one use my towel. I remember my fluffly towel before are now became thin because the parts of the cotton was teared and I decided to use the new ones now, but the towel can't absorb the water in my body. When someone gift me towel as a gift when I don't like the color like dark green, dark blue, dark orange, I give to a family member. I like light color towel or white.

Hi, dpk262006. I like soft long towels that wrap around me completely. I like them to be very soft and fluffy. I also prefer them to be free of lint too. I like dark colors to dry myself with. Or colorful colors. I don't like using a heavy towel that is bulky. I don't like to share my towel with anyone. Not even with my family. I would prefer if they had their own towel. In certain cases in the past, that was an emergency, I had no choice but to share my towel with my kids. An towel that is very clean and nice smelling is the towel for me.

Hello my friend dpk262006 Ji, Well, my first choice would be taht it should be exclusively for me and should never be used even by my hubby. I would be selective with light color un-turkish and I shoukld be able to tie around my hairs after my bath, but my hubby too would not like to share his towel with anyone with family members. He wants it to be turkish and at least sufficient long enough to wrap haround his body after his bath, and would always prefer to use light sky color blue But while takig bath in running train, he will manage with hand towel as well. May God bless You and have a great time.

Hi Deepak, What an interesting topic!! Yes, towels plays an important role for drying or wiping. It draws moisture through direct contact, often using a blotting or a rubbing makes a difference. I am using Esprit stripes which I love so much. It has become my favorite brand. Previously, I have been using Benetton. Benetton are one of the most well known brands in and is never afraid to make a statement about it. Benetton is a must if you want to be feel more soft and better. I switched on to Esprit just for a change and guess what!! I really liked it. Thanks
