One poet said, "life is short and life is sweet, but the grave is not its goal." Definitely, every one of us is not living just to wait to be buried. In our own different ways, we make life more meaningful and well spent. So, in your own way, how do you do it?

By reaching out to less fortunate and give them their little place under the sun. We all deserve a good life, no matter who or what you are.

hi bystander how do I do it, I have done it by working in caring professions that help other people to get well, to adjust to illness, and by working in the library helping people to find what they are looking for. Now I am retired and I just listen to others who just need a listener or a friend to talk to.just to be there when needed. also I mylot a lot.

by listening, hatley, you also help people. there are a lot of people out there who need an ear. only in getting some people like you to listen to them that they get a lot of relief... keep on, hatley....

that's charity to the max, hatley. you know, charity is not only giving material things. caring -- by deed, even by simply listening -- is the greatest act of charity a man can do... keep on...

Hi bystander, I feel that life is most meaningful when we are helping others. Teachers, nurses, etc if they are really meant for that work, can have purposeful lives. If they enter the profession for any reason other than having a desire to help others, they will likely find life to be the opposite. Many people also like to volunteer at homeless shelters or even in helping released prisoners adjust to living outside again and help them in finding employment. All of these things make useful and meaningful lives. When we lose ourselves in helping others we find great satisfaction in life. Blessings.

indeed, pose. helping others really go a long way in making a difference in their lives. moreover, the rewards, albeit not material, can be very fulfilling and enriching. you remember the saying, an act of kindness is an act of god... keep on...
