Would you be nervous to perform in front of people?

I know that I would because I would be scared to mess up. Artists make it so easy though they perform and it's natural to them. I remember when I had to perform in front of people and I was so nervous what made it easier on me though was that I was performing with three other people. Still I did mess up on one part, but I caught up and made it look like I didn't mess up. I get so nervous when I have to get up in front of people and perform it is so nerve wracking. I hope that one day I will have no problem performing in front of people or getting up in front of them. So my question would be is that if you would be nervous to perform in front of people???

i think you are nervous when you ust perform something in front of people because in many cases you are not sure about your performing as well!! So if you would be sure that all things you perform should be accepted and approved by your audience probably you will feel good to perform it!!Surely when you are not sure and so you can imagine shortly the unsuccess so in this cases you become nervous and in many cases you can even make some mistake due to your worry mood!!

I would like to add to Tony's response: I have once tried visualizing, while in the dressing room, before heading to the stage, imagining the whole performance from start to finish, including every cue. If I could imagine, see it in my mind, then I would feel less nervousness because I had already gone through the performance in my mind, knowing, assuring myself that I got it all right to begin with. This technique helped me a lot!

Of course I will.I'm easy to get nervous, when I stand in front of the public, I can't help being nervous.I don,t know why. Maybe I need to practice more. I always try to be more confidence.I hope I can handle it one day.

Hello ANIME; I can completely understand your feelings of nervousness. I had been a performer for years and each time I still got butterflies. That is when I had to be on a stage. Once I was there, it was a breeze and all came naturally, leaving me wondering why I was so nervous in the first place. I think it is natural to feel nervous just before entering the stage. I have also had the liberty to model. That which I enjoyed immensely. Never was I ever nervous and even when there were on lookers since many shoots were out doors, on beaches and other public places. Funny how in that scenario, nervousness never once entered the picture yet on just before getting on a stage, each and every time, I would get nervous. Yet, not once was I worried about messing up. I am not sure where the nervousness came from. I had my role down pat. Strange to think back on all that now. Thanks for the opportunity to respond.

I'm actually kind of weird when it comes to performing... If I have an interested, and fairly sizable, audience, I am (usually) not nervous at all. But if it's a small audience, or they aren't paying me their full and undivided attention then I am terrified. So... As much as I enjoy singing, karaoke night is a little nightmarish.

Even though I've been performing several times on stage, there are times when I feel very nervous. It happens especially when I know that the audience is someone who have very good knowledge on the area of music or the topic that I'm performing. And yeah, one way of getting away from feeling nervous is to enjoy what you're doing. Don't feel pressured on the outcome, but just do your best and enjoy the moment you have on stage. There are many people out there that always dream of performing on stage but never get a chance, and you should be proud because you are one of the lucky person who get to experience performing on stage ^^

oh yes indeed. I am a shy p erson and the few times I have had to perform in front of people was in a play , and in a chorus so therewere other people in the play, and I kept myself from freezing up by being sure I was doing my part well and was connecting with the rest of the cast. Also in the choir we all performed Handel's Messiah for four long hours and there were a lot of us, so I got through that with only sweaty palms.

well, i do, anime. i have tried many ways to overcome this feeling when i face a lot of people, especially onstage, but i have been unsuccessful. there are rare times, though, when i can pull through an performance or two in front of many people, only those people are very familiar, even close to me.

yes i get nervous at the start of performance in front of people but when i get used to it, the nervous feeling will be gone. maybe it's because that as my performance goes to the middle part, i'm just enjoying it and never think it is a performance after all. in this moment, i also ignore or hardly notice that there are people watching me. hehehe. the stage is mine, so here i am :D

I studied music when I was a child and I used to get very nervous before and during the performances, I remember I would get so nauseous, I was very scare of mess everything up and people would make fun of me. Even now being older whenever I have to make any presentation at work I get extremely nervous and scare to mess everything up or that someone ask me something that I don't know how to answer. I think artist do all that so natural because they have trained themselves for that. But I am sure they have nerves also.

I feel nervous to perform, do speech or even talk in front of many people.I am a shy person to speak before others on the stage. I try to overcome it so everytime I get prepared well before I get on the stage. I think if we practise several times,it would be OK.

nervous is been natural to all people.. but in having performance especially activities like in schools, or fiestas etc... nervous is only in the beginning while performing but if you know exactly what you are performing then afterwards your nervous will be gone.... especially performing well and all people watching is amaze... :)

I've played a couple of live shows and I was in drama during high school and being in front of a crowd doesn't really bother me all that much. Once you get on stage you don't really have to worry because you can't really see the crowd all that well due to the lighting of most stages. Also once you start going with whatever you're doing you should be able to ease into your mode.

I often perform in front of lots of people, so I really know the feeling. The funny thing is, I can't seem to get over my stage fright. But whenever I start singing my fears just melt away and I somehow find courage to perform. I know that I should be used to this by now, but I'm still not.

By now, I have gotten so used to performing in front of an audience that I no longer get nervous about doing such a thing. However, I still get slightly apprehensive about screwing up before the crowd, and constantly think about how they will react to me

I can relate. I tend to be nervous too when performing something in front of people, stage freight as they often call it. I remember during classes when I have to speak in front or when we do our return demonstration on a certain process, I can't help but feel nervous. I experience cold and quivering hands and fast heart beat. But one of my defense mechanisms is smiling, I say it really helps. That nervousness usually last 5-10 minutes after and I become spontaneous and confident eventually. I can say, smiling really helps, it relieves.
