Well as you may have known from my previous discussion, i applied back in November at this software company and i forgot about it all together, as I applied for many since then. I was called by them last week and went for an interview + practical test + English Essay and passed it, and then today i had another short interview with the Manager of the department and i was called just about 1 hour and a half ago to be notified that i was hired. I know many of you struggle with getting a job just like i did, but as you can see, good things come to us eventually so just keep it up and you will have yours soon. How long have you waited for a job before giving up on it ? Do you have a job right now or still searching ? Would you take a part time (if you are a student) ?

I will start on the 15th and work a 4 hours shift every morning (from 8 or 9 a.m. depending on the company's needs) which is quite great actually. I have master classes in the evening from 18:00 PM. and with the work hours up to 12 or 13:00 i will have time to rest when i get home, and be fresh for college. I like the idea and i am very excited because i will still have time for all my earning online sites and for other things, and also earn a little extra. I think you all remember i said before that i wouldn't work below a standard - that was a minimum of 800 RON (about 265$) + tickets for a 40 hours per week, but now i will get almost 500 RON (about 166$) + tickets for a 20 hours per week, so in translation that is even better then my minimum as the minimum i was asking was 1.66$ per hour and i got 2.07 $ per hour :

CONGRATS! I gave up looking when I was pregnant w/ my second child because no one would work around my availability as we cannot afford child care and it is difficult to find somewhere that is willing to work around you or even give you a chance to prove yourself. But 18mo ago when I told hubby we have no choice I have to find some sort of employment... I got my foot in the door and after they decided to keep me on agreed to work around his schedule. Now if only I worked more hours... oh well something is better than nothing & I count my blessings.

That is wonderful news!! I'm very happy for you! I hope that you enjoy your job! I have given up looking for awhile, there is nothing here that I'm capable of doing. I have a small income that I can live on but there are people who don't and need any jobs that are out there. Good luck and I hope it's everything you want and need.

That's AWESOME news, elitess! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm so happy for you!!!! It's always a pleasant change of pace to hear good news, especially about employment and especially in these hard times. I get so depressed when all I hear are the stories about someone else losing a job. Thank you so much for sharing this terrific news! When do you start your new job? I hope it's all of what you want and then some. I can't ever remember waiting very long for a job. I worked hard to establish myself as a typesetter/proofreader so, every time I looked for a new job, I usually got it within a week or two. I was actually hired on the spot when I went to an interview in Washington, D.C. for a job as a financial proofreader. The interview ended up lasting five hours! LOL I haven't worked full-time since 2000 and not at all since 2007 so I don't have any recent stories to talk about. But, again, I'm so happy for you!!!! Enjoy your new job!

That is great news! I have been following your discussions and your job hunting and I am very pleased for you now that you have a job! I am a mum and I do writing from home while my daughter is at school but I don’t make a great deal of money so the time may come when I will have to do something that pays better. I would love to start a business like a cattery (a cat hotel) but it takes funds and the willingness to take a risk. My background is in banking and I have always been fortunate with jobs in the past but it is a line of work I don’t enjoy and I don’t want to ever go back to it if I can’t help it! Good luck on your new job, when do you start? Hope it all goes well for you and that you enjoy it and earn good money!

Hey Paula I just signed the contract today, so the paper work is now complete. I start monday (the 15th) and have a first set contract for 2 months - after this, if i am good (and i do hope i am) i will have the chance to extend it, to go full time, and who knows what next. PS: yeah i don't like banking either, even if i have a degree in economics :P

That's a great news Alex! Congratulations on your new job. I just hope it gives you enough satisfaction and you grow from it. This kinda scenario never quite happened with me. I have been working with the same boss since the time I decided to work. But, I think, change is always good. It gives us a chance to meet newer stuffs and we get to learn a lot.

Hi there elitess, Congratulations on getting the job! You must be so excited! Jobs are very hard to come by these days and especially full time jobs. I work in a convenience store full time. I like it fine enough but I really was looking to change. I looked for a while but found nothing. I've kind of taken a break from looking for a while. Well, good luck with the new job! I hope it is everything you hoped it would be.

Congratz dude on your success. I am a campus recruit, so I don't know much of this hassles (Thank GOD). But a friend of mine struggled a lot to get a job. He was continuously trying for a job for more than a year after his degree but he couldn't fetch one. He did JAVA J2EE course which was of no use to fetch a job. Then he joined a company by paying 50000 INR to them. They once again trained him same java and at the end of six months they said bye to him. Then he joined another company where he learned some new tools and technology which fetched him a good job in a corporate company and now he is Australia. I am sharing this because his life would be good example/learning for the people who get frustrated of not getting a job.
