i have had several doctors that are drama queens as far as anything cancer wise.. as in i have had like 5 cancer scares that really was just the doctor being inappropriate if you ask me.. to me a doctor is suppose to not just jump to the conclusion that something could be cancer and tell their patient that till there is a good chance!! ive had docs that thought everything was cancer at first look.. not just one doctor either! different hospitals, doctors, clinics etc.. they said i could have breast cancer, colon cancer, bone cancer, brain cancer and all kinds of things then scare me to death and have me test for things just to have the test come back clear and not even suspicious.. i mean dont get me wrong.. better to be safe than sorry but dont they get how much mental stress that puts their patients under? especially with a high cancer history in their families? i swear the next time i hear it i wont believe it till i see a test that says YES! not a doc jumping to conclusions that in turn stress me out bad over nothing.. does your doctor always jump to conclusions? do you think that maybe they should get more info before jumping and saying cancer or something else serious? i always want to know worst case scenario but at the same time i dont think its fair to mention cancer when you havent ruled out 100 other things and havent ran a follow up test yet.. i guess it comes down to how much information becomes too much information

It often seems that way to me My doctor has a nasty habit of scare-mongering you and putting the fear of God into you. And the worst part is, it's obvious he really enjoys doing so You could walk in there with a sore throat, and walk out again fearful that you may require an amputation.

Mr.Kennedy did it ever occur to you that your doctor may be trying to get you to straighten up and fly right, and yes he probably does enjoy it if it will keep you from a heart attack or a stroke or some such awful thing. as for a sore throat, what on earth do you think they would amputate, your head?

i think a doctor that jumps to conclusions is being unprofessional. i don't have doctors who do that. if its to try to prevent a worse case scenario than i think its best. i've heard about doctors scaring people but the person how was scared was in an ideal situation for the doctor to be telling her what was for her own good. she got in a car accident and injured her leg and he was a doctor who was and infection control specialist and he was just trying to tell her the worst possible case scenario because if she wasn't careful she could lose her leg. as many people already know infection are started to become immune to more antibiotics.

if i was like a smoker and they were trying to scare me with like lung cancer that would make sense but why torture some one that does nothing to put themselves in bad health that is young and yet has problems that they havent figured out yet?? it would be like a pediatrician picking on little kids or something

I think you've been around the hospital block to know what they're going to say. Just go with the flow and don't stress yourself out until the results are in. As long as you know the routine, it won't phase you a bit but of course if you're not feeling well, by all means be aware of it's tensity as well. Good luck and take cares!

Yes they try to scare me, but it doesn't work. When I do get sick enough to go to the doctor, its just a virus, acid indigestion or some minor ailment. A simple blood test can usually determine if there is something more serious wrong. Once a blood test is done the doctor should be able to let you know what was wrong with the blood test which is a cause for concern. That is coming from my own experiences when I felt ill.

I think that isnt really fair... its not right that they jump into conclusions without examination of your case., that really scares patients.. You should get second opinions after you get their diagnosis.

I have a wonderful doctor. He actually delivered me. I was the last baby he ever delivered. LOL He has been a doctor to four generations of my family, but he is only around 50-something. I trust him completely, and he would never tell me anything for the purpose to scare me.

moonlitmagikchild well as a person who has diabetes and has to go to her doctor often I am not anti doctor. my doctor does not purposely scare me, and cancer has never been even mentioned. but I did not have cancer in my family. maybe some of them were just trying to save your life in case there was a malignancy. I do not know but every hospital and doctor in allthose places you went can not all be wrong. How in hell do you expect a doctor to know what the devil is wrong with you if you do not let him take tests to find out.they are not magicians they are just human beings most of them doing the best they can. I would want all the information I could get for any malady I may have. I am not against most doctors. I worked for years in the medical field and mst doctors are decent caring people.

I had one doctor who jumped to conclusions when I needed hip surgery. He was kinda old and thought I was going to be a cripple if I didn't do the surgery with him, he actually yelled at me and my pregnant wife. Needless to say we went with a different doctor, a more professional one.
