I will share a story with you...

There was this friend of mine during high school. He was weird in many a ways, kind of spooky at times. But he was a very hard-working student. I was probably his closest friend in the class. Well, one day, our English teacher asked us about a synonym of a particular word. I was pretty sure about the answer and he (my friend) was having some other word in his mind. I asked him for a bet, and probably out of atrocity I told him if I were wrong then you could ask me anything to do, and if you are wrong then you are going to flunk in the exams this year. I knew how important it was for him to pass the exams. His face was stone-turned and he told me something and I strictly try to abide with it. He said that his grandmother says that in the span of 24 hours every day there is a particular moment and no body knows when precisely it is. That it is believed whatever you say in that particular moment it will turn true. So you must not utter something horrendous like that for it may happen. So always say something good and resist the temptation to say something bad. It was a life changing moment for me and I do my best to follow it. Do you think it is true? Now, that you know the story would you care for a change? Do you ever say things out of frustration and repent for it later? Please share. Bodhi

Hi Bodhi, I heard the same story from my elders. they used to encouraged us to speak positive things because it will be blessed. they used to say words are sharpo and it can even kill a person. so we need to be careful with our words--it can go back to us.

Thats exactly what I meant by the story my dear friend. When you say positive things you think positively, you act positively and there ought to be a positive change in your life. Thank you so much for having the patience to go through the post and for the lovely response. Bodhi

That is a very interesting story. I had never heard about a time in the day where anything you said would come true. If that really is true, it is probably best to be careful with what you say. It is probably best to try to say more positive than negative things, anyway. Sometimes I think if we believe something bad will happen, we end up making it happen whether we want to or not. I know if I think "I will drop this glass" enough times when I am carrying a glass, the chances are good that I will drop it. Our thoughts can effect our actions for the good and the bad.

Hey Sunyskies, The story actully inteds to say that we need to think positively more often. And thinking good things will actually bring in the good positive change. It really works. Thanks for the wonderful response, Bodhi

I have never heard this before! Thank you for sharing this. I sometimes feel that if you constantly say something it may become true, but not precisely for the reason your friend's grandmother told him. It's because you are somehow conditioning yourself to bring it about.

Hi Deena, It is actually like the things you say and think continuously will happen eventually.I really do recommend the documentary called "The secret of Attraction". It is very important to say good and positive things and most important is to think positively, to bring a welcoming change. Thanks Bodhi

Hi bodhi; I agree that words are very powerful as are the intentions behind those words. The law of cause and effect. It is important to not say anything that you may regret later, whether this is a superstition or not. Whatever we put out to the Universe will come back ten fold. Our words, as does our thoughts, have power and as we speak and think we breath life into those words and thoughts. Take affirmations for example. If we use them, over time we can witness those very words taking shape in our own lives. On the other hand, if you tell a child, over and over, that it is stupid, that child will likely appear stupid. Collective thinking is a great example of how our thoughts can have a powerful and even healing effect. So always keep those positive thoughts and words flowing. I believe that if we love, truly love from our hearts, then our words and thoughts will be an example of that.

Hello Evrwonder, Thanks for the post. I really do think that our thoughts have a very major impact on our lives. The way we think and the things we think will eventually happen that way, whether good or bad. I had recently even seen a documentry on the above subject. "The secret of attraction". It was really good. It says that the universe is like a menu, we flip through the pages and ask for ourselves the things we wnat. The universe doesn't know whther the things are good or bad. If we fear something and want desperately to avoid it but still keep thinking of it, finally that particular thing will happen. So think positive, and say positive things. Thanks again for the post.

bodhisatya perhaps that is good advice to use anyway whether or not 'you really believe it. Being positive often helps our days to go positively well, while grim sad sour remarks do shadow our days so its well to be positive anyway with all remarks. I have said things that were grim and sour then later repented for it. we all need more positive energy in our lives.
