Banks Making Forclosure Mistakes

I ran across this article posted by a friend on FB. Banks are forclosing on homes they have no lein/mortgage to! I'm sorry but they are that careless to not be able to read the house number before removing peoples things, changing locks ect is just pure STUPIDITY! I think the folks who are listed and probably many more not mentioned have a right to sue the snot out of these banks for their ignorance & inconvience. http://www.tampabay.com/news/business/realestate/bank-of-america-forecloses-on-house-that-couple-had-paid-cash-for/1072632

i'm not surprised that was BofA.i've heard horror stories about them. banks nowadays think they can do whatever they want with impunity.and often do because not much is done to stop them. mistakes take forever to rectify, and often even more money. that being said..they definately should sue the piss out of them.

I'd be beyond livid! Especially if they end up selling the property while your trying to take it to court and get an injunction. Honestly, I don't know how they can do what they are doing w/o proper paperwork & if they get away with it thru our legal system that's like me comming into your house kicking you out & saying it's mine!

exactly. that's like they had a pass a law up here protecting the elderly. this poor old woman got kicked out over a town water bill-not even 200 dollars-and her house was sold 3 times before they stopped it and restored her. i mean..you're not even safe in a paid for house if you owe on a water bill.

That's sick! How can you kick a senior out over a water bill? Good grief many people don't pay their utilites here in winter because there is a time frame where by law they cannot turn you off for failure to pay because it does get very cold here. But they also don't help anyone either other than hand out plastic for your windows & tell you to upgrade your furnace & other utilites to energystar rated ect.

This isn't the first sick and twisted thing that the banks have been doing in the past couple of years. We bought our house on 2/13/08 and immediately had all of the utilities changed into our name and had keys to the house, etc. The following day one of the previous owner's two mortgage holders came in and turned off all of our utilities because he was in the process of being foreclosed on. Now, he was no longer the legal owner of the house, but it didn't seem to matter to them. Heck, we'd not even held our mortgage long enough to make a payment on the house. It really made me upset. Now, however, we are making all of our mortgage payments and don't have a problem with the house. We love our house and I pray that we are able to stay out of trouble as the economy recovers.

I heard one time about a house that got torn down my accident. They were supposed to be tearing down the house on the other side of the street, but they read the house numbers wrong!
