I just got two emails from Mylot:-
'Your answer has been deleted because of the following reason:
all posts must be in english'
Huh? But I can only post in English - I don't know any other language - I am English!
And the discussion was all in English as far as I can remember, not rude or 'adult' or any other problem that I can judge from way back.
Anyone else had strange emails like this?

Haha! Yes - some people call me names but I really do know who my parents were! LOL
I'm sure it is a small glitch and not worth bothering Alice. But is it just me?

I haven't had this problem yet and I hope not. At least you know it was an error. Could someone have hacked your mylot and posted discussions in another language? Maybe you should ask admin to look into it.

Was it just your response that was deleted?
I have received many notifications but only when the entire dicsussion was removed and mine went with it.
Did you use text language? Goodness knows but I would be like you and want to get to the bottom of it too

But was it just YOUR response or the whole discussion that was removed?
The two are different.
If it was the discussion then you were not at fault (except that maybe you should have avoided that topic) while if it was just YOUR response... that's different.

Not weird so much as just teething problems with the new layout. I like a lot of the new features so I am happy to help debug.

I also received one email recently saying that,my response was deleted becoz the discussion i replied to had been deleted.
And,this gives me some thinking what discussion it is,becoz,the email never had any review about the topic.
I hope we can also view what topic's been deleted so we know what to avoid next time.

Yes, I had one like that where the whole discussion was deleted.
I suppose Mylot could not give us a link to the discussion in question because they had deleted it.
Maybe if we ask nicely they could at least give the title of the discussion so that we might learn from our mistakes.
In the past I have replied to a discussion which has a referral link and told the member that it was not allowed so that they could learn. I then knew that my post would be deleted as well but I accept that. How else do you let newbies know the rules?

Hi alilin my friend. Yes, the emails make you sit up straight when you first read them but I think it is good to be told what is happening.
When Alice was asking for feedback before the mods this was one of the requests from members. So now we have got it. After the glitches are ironed out I'm sure it the site will be better for it.

But these notifications can help us earn more, much more, if we take notice of them and avoid responding on similar topics again so that we do not lose more posts.

Why don't you write to admin and see what they have to say. It might have just been a computer error or perhaps you're discussion contains one foreign word that they didn't understand. That's all I can think of. Good luck.

Hi cripfemme, as GoAskAlice (the Mylot moderator) said in post #5 here, it was a mistake. Just one of the glitches to be ironed out after the code changes on the site. The sort of thing that happens after a lot of housekeeping.
Have you had it happen to you recently?

I have received emails that my response has been delete because the discussion was deleted, but not nothing like you have received. I do like the fact we are now getting emails when one of our responses has been deleted. I don't even remember the discussions they mentioned in the emails, as they must have been a ways back that I responded to them. I have been racking my brain on those as I just don't remember responding to some of them. Mylot says I did, so I did, but I sure don't remember the discussions at all. Oh well, I thought they were okay, but nope, they weren't. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Wow! That discussion was 4 years ago. No wonder I didn't remember it!
