I will have to give this some thought. Luckily there is a lot of time to come up with ideas.

You should do a slide show with photos from "then" and "now." That would be hilarious!

Hi Canellita, Yes we have all the time to prepare. Thanks to the new technology because we are maximizing its use to keep in touch. we are scheduling an online chat and skype conference to involve those who are working abroad. we are all excited for the meeting friend. all the inputs i gained here will surely be brought to the table for discussion.

hello winks! wow! another homecoming?! hmmm great! well well, i am not really good with these things but i think it will be good if you can have a set up that can bring back the memories of that time to all of you. bring some old photos of the events that you have been through that time, like your prom night, graduation day, the intrams...things like that. maybe you can also think of a good theme for the event, what if all of you will be dressed in the fashion that you have in 1986? hehe maybe you can also give some recognition for those people in your batch who have great contribution in the society & in your alma mater... but whatever you will be doing, i hope for the success of the event...

Hi CK, Miss you friend! Yes it's another homecoming but this time it's our turn to be the host. that's a good idea. theme and may be motif to match the theme. of course we will consider that 80's look plus the line up of music. there will be awarding ceremonies. we just need to figure out the areas for rewards. thanks my dear friend. the heat is killing me. i still have cough and colds up to this time.

we have even a dance troup during our time and we can always revive it and dance the 80s' music away. 80s music is the best era of music for me. great that fruits are in season this time and is quite cheap so you're right more fruits, juices and water.

This could be the best time to raise charity for the most important cause you could think and believe. Along with the fun and frolic and memories and laughters and emotions this could be the occassion for some good work too.

Hi Blessedboy, I think there will be a fund-raising activity within the year. we need to agree on the charity of group that will be the beneficiary for whatever funds we will be generating from it. you are right friend...after the long preparation, the gift-giving for our chosen group--we all deserve a wonderful night. thanks!

Hi msf, Happy to share with you some ideas which we did in our alumni homecoming two years back. Aside from giving the "most" and "best" of the night, say the most popular, best dressed, and those who became successful in their chosen careers, etc, we also required each section to present something, like a dance, a song,or a drama skit. That part made everyone feel nostalgic, reminded us of who danced, sang and act well back in high school. We also asked those who have migrated to other countries, or are currently working abroad to send us a video of themselves, so that they too became part of the event. We showed this in between each presentation. It kinda made us feel they were actually there with us. Good luck to you on this big day.

Hi Doryvien, so there will be an awarding ceremony...i am thinking about awarding the oldest representative from the oldest batch. i think it's also good to give an award to the family who graduated from the same school--same alma mater. thanks for mentioning this awards gimmick with me. i have now a list of items to be considered for the night. i think the music will solely be 80s. the video presentation will also be great. thanks so much. i am fully excited friend.

How about doing a where are they now book. This would be something which you would send out to the people that would (or may not) be attending the event where they could fill out a questionairre that would tell about where they are at this stage in their lives. This would be a great way to network with people if you so desire and it would also potentially serve as a fundraiser in the mean time too. They did one of these when we had my class reunion and it was a great success.

Hio Dorann, I think this is another good gimmick in our alumni homecoming. i am sure it will be a hit and really a practical way of raising-funds starting from the batchmates and then maybe later support from friends and groups where we are member of. thanks for this idea my friend!

Hi titli, when i was a university student, we got the chance to celebrate the golden jubilee of our depertment. As u have mentioned here we were the host batch and arranged several activities. 1. First evening. We performed folk dances from each state of our country. A huge arrangement of more than 20 dances. 2. Second evening. Two dramas. One was by boys and other from girls. We performed a mime show of 30 minutes. 3. Last evening. It was get together, where we interected with more than 100 students( some of them were more than 30 years old than us). Lastly we had a musical night. U can pick up some items from here. Lol. Take care.

Hi Shibham, 20 dances? that's a lot friend i know it did entertain all who attended the alumni homecoming. the event was filled with songs, dances and other creative presentations. i can imagine the event--the theme seemed to be on theater...a talent night show! The past alumni events capped the night with dances.

The must thing that you should bring is the camera. You have to take lots of snapshots so you and your mates could make a presentation of how difficult it is to organize and plan and host an alumnae homecoming come December. You should also bring a list of contacts (and tell your friends about this beforehand) such as prospective sponsors, concessionaires, donors, etcetera. That done, you could just asign as to who to attend to which task, like who is entertaining for intermission. Don't forget to carry cash, too. You need it for food, drinks, and other paraphernalia. Have fun! Feel young all over again.

All I can do is wish you luck with that. I'm not very good at those kinds of things you know. I ended up finding out about events like that later on, just like when they were happening and what not. Though some were good. Though I don't know what you've done, but nutrual colors should work just fine.

Hi Kaylachan, The theme color is great. we need to figure out what will be our color for the night and the entire activity. we need to agree first on the event's theme and the color will follow. i hope you can get back to me here for some more recommendations about unique features for our alumni homecoming. thanks friend!

Hi Msfrancisco, I'm glad to hear about your alumni homecoming. My mom attended hers a few years ago and it was a memorable event for her. ;) You should definitely bring a camera to capture these rare moments. Never leave home without it! ;) Another suggestion is to bring your business card. Or have an address book with you so that you could swap addresses, phone numbers and emails with your colleagues. A unique thing that I would suggest is bring your high school scrapbook (if you had one) or some photo albums containing your high school pictures. It would be a great conversation starter, and you could relieve the best moments with your friends. Last thing, bring your smile. It's definitely the best accessory that you could bring with you. Have a good time on your alumni homecoming!! :-)

Hi OP, Yes, we are now starting to collect old pictures for a presentation. the business card is great. i think i need to reproduce more of it. this is not only a homecoming for all of us but a good opportunity to network with. thanks for this idea. of course i will always wear my signature smile!
