Waking up early

I have never been a morning person. As I have gotten older life has dictated that I get up in the mornings and give up my night owl ways. Lately I have been waking up near or right about sunrise and sometimes even earlier. It doesn't necessarily matter when I have gone to bed at night, I seem to be on automatic now and getting up around 6 AM even though I don't have to be up until later. I actually like getting up in the morning because I can get more done with my day but I always want to go back to sleep after a little while. I used to be able to take an afternoon siesta but that is no longer possible. Sometimes I do nap in the evening and then get up and do some work in the house or work on an article. I guess we just have to figure out ways to get the most out of the day right?

It sounds like you are utilizing all your waking hours. I know for me, if I don't get sleep, I can't do too much. My thinking processes are slow and I cannot find the right words. This really isn't good sense I need to talk so my son hears words.

Never mind my thinking process. Did you notice sense? It was supposed to be since. LOL I know I needed sleep. We've been getting up at 2 am every night, morning, whatever you want to call it.

Hi C, Night is really a great time for us to rest and sleep. and i agree with you for maximizing our time during the day. so, when it's time to rest then go ahead give yourself the best rest that you can. empty your mind from any concerns, take a deep breath, drink milk and give yourself a light massage and you will surely have a great and extended sleep. for the meantime let me give you a swedish massage to calm you down and put you to sleep friend. i am a trained one. i know you will love it. how's the kids and the family?

I often joke to my friends that I need a wife to handle the cooking and laundry and everything else domestic I don't have time for. I must remember to add massage to the list. Everything's fine.

Even how late when i go to bed, i will never get late later than 7AM its a routine or maybe i used to wake up that time always. At 7 I do a bit of exercise at home and go out for a breeze walking to get a fresh air then ready myself for work.Get up early is good not to feel lazy for whole day routine. Happy Lotting!

The earlier I get up it seems the slower I move. Of course it depends on how much rest I have had overall. If I am rested, I will get up as soon as my brain starts thinking of all the things I need to address during the day.

Before I used to sleep a lot. Since I started doing my online businesses, I wake up earlier than my alarm clock. I get so excited doing earning online and it has been like this for the past 2 months. I'm loving this very much. It is so easy to do and I love earning money at home.

This is great! I would love to be that excited about work! It wears me out too much these days though. Of course I would much rather spend all my time working from home.

Yes, it is a good habit. I rarely have the opportunity to sleep late and I take full advantage of the times I do not have to be up very early.

I used to be a night owl too, but like you as I have gotten older I get to bed earlier and am waking up early. I try to go back to sleep if its too early, I'm not getting up at 6 in the morning. I have cats and when they know I am awake, if its light outside they want me to get up. They are hungry, they will get on the headboard and look down at me. I look up and have all their eyes on me.

I, too, am a night owl. However, I have a JOB and that means I need to get up and go. I need to get up about 7:30, to get everything I need done before I go to work, done. I hate it when I wake up in the middle of the night and then I'm BEAT by the time I need to get up. THEN I have to go to do those things I need to do during the day. This getting old is the PITS!

ROFLOL! The older I get the less I want to work. I don't mind doing things, I just want to do them on my own time.

Hi, Canellita. The same is with me too. I have a tendency to get up much earlier than I need to as well. I will get many things done. And it helps me to clear my mind better when I am up so early in the mornings. It does me so good. I hardly take naps but I do doze off every once and a while. Getting up early in the mornings can be tiresome as well as beneficial.

It's true getting up early makes you tire out early. You go to bed early as a result and wake up even earlier and the cycle continues!

well i am definitely not a morning person, but some days when i can't sleep i may still be up in the morning. I can remember when i was working when i first started the job i had to be at work at 6 AM in the morning and i was not used to getting up that early. When i went to school we never had to get up quite that early so i was getting up almost as early as my dad was and he left for work just after 5 AM. They did away with the shift that i was working and put me onto the night shift, which was much easier on me, but for a long time i could not get used to sleeping in again and i would wake up still in the morning. The days when i get up early in the morning when i can actually get to sleep at a decent hour those are the days i seem to get the most done. I rarely ever take a nap however as i would rather be more tired when it is time to go to sleep even though some night i can't manage to sleep for some reason, but if you are tired usually that helps you to fall asleep a little easier.

hi canellita, yes, I agree with you, waking up early - we can do more things. Even I felt that work was completed a bit earlier and no tension. And I feel happy when I woke at 4 in the morning.

I find that I like waking up early in summer while I like waking up later in winter because I want to stay in my very warm and comfortable bed and quilt for a longer time in the cold morning of the winter.

I hate to waking up early, I had low blood pressure, its make me dizzy if I sleep less than eight hour. so if i wanna wake up early I sleep at earlier time. I usually wake up at certain time but when i don't have to do anything I just pull back my blanket and continue my sleep, But I never got afternoon siesta its make me dizzy for the rest of the day if I take it.

well i can write a book how much i hate to wake up early in the morning, the thing is that, ow much i try or you can say how early i sleep its always hard for me to wake up early in the morning, well as they say if you cant change your habit try to change other things, previously i used to reach to my office late everyday, and someday someone suggested me about a job which had night shifts, i changed my job, and now very happy, for me if u cant change yourself try to change the directions..

It's good that you were able to find another job so that you don't have to get up in the morning. I don't think I could stay awake to do night shifts. Some people have no trouble, but I used to work evenings and I would get home late and then sleep late and the day would be half over.

i was also a similar personality.... in my engineering days i hardly remember getting up early...was late to every class.. but now my life has changed because of the strict time management followed in my MBA college...no matter what,i have to make to the college on time...one sentence my coordinator always says when anyone is late by even 2 minutes is "YOU ARE TOO EARLY FOR THE NEXT LECTURE"

I find that if I don't get up I sometimes fall asleep again and sleep too late. Then there are other times where I can't get back to sleep and by the time I feel tired again it is time to be up.

I've always hated getting up early in the morning, but when I was going to college I had 8 o'clock classes so I had to get up at 7 every morning and then when I started going to college online I switched to an earlier shift at work and started having to get up at 5 every morning, so I was kind of forced to get up early. Still, even though I get up early I tend to be really bad about going to bed at a decent time. I work two jobs so I usually don't get home from the second one until anywhere between 10 and 11:30 at night and then I can't go to bed right away, so I don't actually go to sleep until around midnight most days. I do find that on my days off, most days, I still end up getting up earlier than I'd like to (not at 6, but up by 9 when I go to bed at 2 or 3 in the morning).

looks like i saw myself in you i also dont bother to wake up too early or even in the morning, i dont know if im just being lazy or not but maybe because i also sleep late at night besides theres no need for me to wake up early since i dont have any job or any important thing to do in the morning as i can do that if i wake up any time in the afternoon. like cleaning the house and other household work, and so if i also wake up i also go back to sleep and take a nap like a never ending routine to me.

I am someone who gets out of bed early. Of course, it might be a while before I am actually woken up and ready to go. However, I escape from a state of sleeping rather early in the day. Of course, the fact that I do not stay up to an insane hour at night really balances it out in the end. I guess it is something that you get used to. I have fallen into a schedule that I have grown accustomed to for quite some time. If my schedule gets off track, then there may be issues. I have a feeling that if I went to bed late, I would not be able to get up early. However, waking up early some days is very difficult even if you are used to it. There are some days where that bed is pretty comfortable.

The taste of a fruit is never known until the first bite.Yes,among the very advantages of waking up early is that you'll feel energetic all day long being able to bear fruit by using the maximum of your energy.
