Do any of you have silver hair? How old were you when you saw it first?

I have mostly silver hair. It turned blonde first and gradually silver. Now it's about all silver with some blonde or brown underneath or here and there. I had naturally dark brown hair, and at 46 my hair gradually turned blonde, and after several years, the silver blended with the blonde with brown underneath. How about you. You can tell by my avator that I'm silver.

Thank you so much. I actually could see a silver hair every now and then in my 30's, but I always pulled them out, and thank you so much for the compliment.

That's for sure. I might not mind those years, it's everything that gone on in my life since then.. We deserve our silver hairs, don't we? It's nice you dont look your age. That was me for a while, but not lately!

Your welcome.. So many people are worried about the color of their hair because its a sign of old age... blah blah blah... thats too funny... didnt know i was old at 13...lol.. thats just the color of my hair.. yes I have dyed my hair like three times in my life.. yes it looks nice, but the color that i am trying to cover up comes back in a month or so... Why waste the money? Also when I do dye my hair.. Have to keep my ID handy because a lot of people think I am a teenager or something... God no!! Wouldnt want to go bad to that stage in my life even if someone paid me...

Oh yes, I have silver hair all right but it's hidden under the dye :-D My hair is currently bright red but now that the silver roots are showing through again, I think I'll change colour soon.

I think if I were you I'd try purple with a couple scarlet strips near the eyes.

When I was in my 40's I colored my hair with blonde streaks. My hair was dark brwn at the time. As time went on I colored more and more to blonde. Then all of a sudden one year, I didn't have roots anymore and that's when I discovered my hair color was changing to blonde, and later to silver.

Wow! That's alot different from me, but I know I will be white-headed when I'm 80, cause in the last couple years, my mom's hair has turned white. It was just like mine for a long time. She's 84.

Hi wonttakelong. That's about when I started seeing grey. I don't know if it's stress. If it is we all earn them, don't we? Five kids, wow, that can do it for sure!

Hello, Chrystaltears. No, I don't have any silver at all. I'm 57 and still a nice rich brunette. It comes from my mother's side of the family - nobody grows grey until they're into their 60s, and then it seems to happen almost overnight. My daughter in law has quite a bit of grey, and she's most envious of me. I haven't ever used colours on my hair, and I never use a hairdryer, so my hair is in excellent condition. I won't colour it when I do go grey, either. As far as I'm concerned, natural is best.

Gosh! You really are blessed to have your natural color for that length of time. I didn't color my hair til early 40's, and I kept a permanent in it for years--for body. I have baby fine thin hair. You're right natural is the VERY best!

From time to time I grow a silver hair. I don't know where it comes from. I first noticed it when I was 12 I think. I just yank it out. But as time is passing I'm seeing a few more than before and I'm still yanking.

Yeah. I used to do the yanking thing, and then I wanted some hair at least, so I had to stop!
