What is your 'happy ever after'?

Finding your prince charming? Happy? - What is your happy ever after ending?

Running on the same theme as my last discussion, what would you consider as a 'happy ever after' ending for you? I guess for me, when I see my kids already stable in life, not only financially, but also seeing them as responsible adults. And maybe me having enough resources not to worry about tomorrow. Just enough wits to think where I should be travelling next. And what sights and places I need to experience. How about you? Is it finding your prince charming? And riding off to the sunset?

It would be easy to turn this into a hockey related wish, but I'm sure that's not what you meant..but to ask this question at this point in the season? For me it's also getting the kids grown up and making adult choices that will allow them to live good and productive lives. Beyond that it would be to retire to a quiet few acres where I could plant flowers until there was no space left to put them, during the rest of the year I would love to spend that time traveling around with my husband and taking back some of the time together we have given up living the way we do.

Yes, why not make it into a hockey related wish?! Of course for an organization such as the wings, it would be hard-er to understand if the canucks just want to win the cup this season. In fact, win their first ever. And then be regarded as one of the elite clubs like the red wings! And maybe then, I could retire from being such a fanatic, as I travel around not worrying about the kids and the hockey club!

oh bounce thats so easy,my happy ever after would be for my son to get a really really good job, accumulate some money, move me out of this retirement home into an apartment, and get all our stuff out of storage. thats what would be my most happy ever after, and am hoping some of this comes true this year.last year was a wash so this has to be a good year, long story, he was the breadwinner in our little family of two, I was elderly and handicapped, he got laid off, we ran outof money, were evicted and homeless, he found this place for me, its paid out of my social security check and SSI check, and he was helped by American family housing into an apt. with three other guys, they are all still looking for work.we a re not homeless exactly, we just do not have a home yet. s o my happy ever after.

Oh yeah my happy ever after would be for my three children to get jobs or marry someone with lots of money. I don't mind doing things for them or my grandchildren but I would love some me time. If they had enough money of their own I could have more to go places with my husband. Now that would be happy ever after. P.S. I would love to win the lottery. Talk about being happy for the rest of my life, if I could buy something just because I could that would be great.

Hello Hatley. I hope that this year will bring you all your wishes to make your 'happy ever after' come true. It is great that you've managed to survive in this terrible economy. But good people shouldn't have to suffer, or get separated because of this. I hope your son finds the job he wants, and that you two are back together.

curses my response just went to la la land... I'd like to see my kids stable in life too, Dearra getting past her anxiety problem and becoming more confident, Cary overcoming his autism enough to become independent, Naomi growing up strong and beautiful and smart. I'd like to be with somebody who makes me happy, or alone if I don't find the right person. I'd like to be financially set so that I can do what I want, travel, etc. And I want my health to be good enough that I can do it.

Like all the comments I've tried to add on all the responses in this discussion, I would like to send out the positive vibes to you dawnald! I'm sure there is light at the end of the tunnel. And that all your dreams would soon come true. Not only for you, but also for your kids. Just keep the faith! And a little bit of luck, which I wish for you. Thanks.

For me, my happily ever after is when I found myself a permanent wife, having at least 2 children, having a stable life, a house of my dream and a job that I enjoy doing it. Yes I love the idea of travelling around the world, meet new people and cultures, and gain some more knowledge about the world itself. I would like to raise my kid to become a useful and responsible adult in the future, teach them how to use their money responsibly. And last but not least, a loving wife that will accompany me to the day I die is what I wish for.

Hello Greentearoxxd. The way you describe what you want for an orchestra, it sounds like you don't want a 'last-song' for a movie. It sounds more like you need a long playing CD to realize all your dreams. Whatever the case, I hope you start realizing all of these soon. Thanks for the response. And welcome to myLot!

Now, I got this mixed up with my other discussion... sorry about that! Just the same, your happy ever after sounds more like a ...happy ever after and after and after... just like a long playing CD!

I know, because I am only 16. This is my dream, a premature one, therefore it is a happy ever after and after and after...

A happy ever after for me is when I finally be contented with my career, when I reached the heights of it, when I finally found my prince charming and build a wonderful family with him, and we'll go around the world.

my ideal story would be like me and my husband is still together despite old age and i'm picturing ourselves travelling together to places we haven't been to, and just enjoying each other's company, catching up the time we lost to make our family stable financially. just pure happiness and contentment, just like in fairy tales. how i wish life is not so harsh and i can experience the peacefulness of fairy tale endings. :)

My happily ever after would be when my brother has finally graduated from college and become a dentist, and when I have provided my mom her dream house. When these two things happen, I guess I can happily ride off in the sunset with my prince charming (also yet to come). :-p

I can consider as a "Happy ever after" ending when one day, when all our kids left home for a new beginning of a life of their own, and my husband and I would still sit together at each others side with hairs all gray, and wrinkles on our faces having coffee and laughing until we cry, then talking about all the wonderful things happened in the past... An ending that you know you've done great in your life in raising children and made their lives better, when you know that you are still beside the person you loved and still loving for so long.
