how to minimise road accidents?

According to National Crime Records Bereau[NCRB],India's record in road death has touched a new low, as toll rose to at least fourteen deaths per hours in 2008.While truks/lorries and two wheelers were responcible for over fourty percent deaths, the rush during afternoon and evening hours were most fatal phases

it's that high...! drivers should keep their eyes on the road... drive responsibly and not to drink and drive! There are so many people like that here in our country (Philippines).. Also checking the condition of your vehicles once in a while just to make sure it's pretty safe to use...

Right off the top of my head I can think of several things that would help to lower the number of accidents that happen on the roads. The first thing that I can think of is to not use the cellular phone while driving. Even more important than that, I think that it is important that people do not try to text while driving. Another thing that would help to lower the number of accidents on the road is not to be fatigued while you are driving.
