Where will you spend your holy week?

I am returning home this Holy week to be with my family. This is my first time, in five years, to spend the Holy Week with my family and I am quite excited. Holy week is strictly observed in the province where one can really feel its true meaning. Unlike other people who seemed excited with taking a vacation, I will spend the rest of the days in contemplation with my destiny and because our house is very near to the beach maybe I have to find time alone facing the mighty Pacific Ocean and rethinks my future.

I will be home this long weekend. Not because I have nowhere to go, its just that my mother who has cancer cannot travel. I am also concerned for her health with the intense summer heat, so I am also not taking risks in asking her to go out. So it will be the same as last year, just at home probably with a dozen home movies (DVD,DVD) with my mom.

Oh that's sad, I hope your mother will be in good shape and will strengthen her faith despite of the illness. May you have a wonderful Holy Week out there. Just cling on to prayers for your mother recovery. God bless!

Good for you that you will be home this holy week. We, however, will not be able to because of budgetary constraints. So we will remain here in Manila for the rest of the week. We will however practice what is necessary when it arrives and contemplate in our own ways to feel the meaning of it.

Oh that is sad to know that you were not able to make it last Holy week. Well, I guess you already did what you must do for the occasion. I guess next time we should just prepare for the next year so that at least we could have a much better Holy week next year.

Unfortunately, I was not able to return home last Holy Week because I was short with my budget.hehehe. So I just spend the sacred days in the boarding house, strictly observing the tradition of the Holy Week and attended church services. I was able to spend my birthday in the church too since my birthday was last Black Saturday so it was a bit special. There was a renewal of faith and baptism during the Easter vigil mass.

I'll be home for the whole week since the office just called the whole of the week the vacation week. Hurray! Just like most holy weeks before, we go swimming, we clean house, we garden and just anything to while away the time. But Holy Thursday and Good Friday , we go to church. Then Easter Sunday for that Easter Service and hopefully egg hunting.

I guess, we are all just spending Holy Week at home. Two years ago we were in Baguio. But now, we just decided to just be here because it is more economical than going somewhere else.

You are right, home is the most ideal place to spend the Holy Week because we can spend more time with ourselves. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to return home in the province, so I just spent the Holy Week in the boarding house and would go out only to attend church activities.
