Those people that live in the Philippines are very lucky to live there. It has gorgeous looking palm fringed beaches and a pristine coral reef. If a traveler flies to Asia he or she could go to a country where is is possible to travel on a low budget. I recommend countries like Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam for travelers to go to. Do you live in Asia? Have you visited any countries in Asia? Which place would you like to visit in Asia?

Hi Maximax8, I am from the Philippines - if you're going to visit our country - may I suggest that you do it in Summer. Aside from beaches, we have historic sites, fiestas, beaches and good bargain shopping here. We are friendly and speaks good English. If I am going to choose, I would also like to visit Singapore, Bali, Taiwan and Hong Kong (the areas tourist normally do not see - been at Kowloon and Hong Kong Disneyland).

I have talked to a lot of people on mylot from different countries. And by far the nicest are those from the Philippines. Truly, I've never "talked" to one rude Filipino here. Unlike we Americans of course.

A few years ago, I was in an island resort in the Philippines called Boracay. It was a lot of fun! It had a long stretch of white sand beach going on for miles. And it was lined with small restaurants and bars, and shops owned by foreigners. I ate a lot of seafood, had a massage by the beach, went dancing on a sandy dance floor, and of course, got wasted! I would like to go back there again soon!

Thank you for promoting my country as well. I live in the Philippines, although I live in the Metropolis where the scenery you just described is far from in where I am living but I know that we have a lot of potential when we talk about beautiful places around the countryside. Unfortunately I have visited a few places but not everywhere.

I really don't believe there is any country in Asia that I would want to visit.

You're missing a lot AmbiePam. Do not believe all you hear and read bad news about Asia.

No, that isn't it. I mean I'd like to go to Africa, and I hear WAY more bad news about things that happen there. And people on mylot who are from Asia are amazingly nice. It's just not something I'd like to do, go to Asia. But even if I did, it wouldn't matter. I could never afford it! There is a couple in my church who lived in Vietnam. They speak glowingly of the people who live there.

Hi maximax, I live in India. We have a nice coastline too. But it is not developed in many places. Goa is famous, and few areas in Kerala. Other than that it is generally crowded. :( However, you could look for some nice forests in Uttaranchal, and Ooty. Lovely places. :) The hilly region is somewhat like some poor European country, but the cost of living is much lower! :)

Very true! When it comes to travel, Asia is the best place to be to see huge malls and fantastic beaches. God willing, I like to visit Hong Kong and Japan again. Hopefully, this time around, I'll be bringing my husband and three kids with me.

maximax8, I would really recommend Thailand anytime being an Asian myself. For one, she just have everything you would want nice beaches, spas, shopping, golf, health spas and even have some places that you can experience cold winters. Besides, the people is hospitable one of the best and food that I can assure you of a no less gourmet experience. It is just simply a wonderful holiday destination.
