Power failure so frequent

Power failure (they call it load shedding, power cut, power saving) in this hot weather is so painful in noon time and night. I face helpless when there is sudden brownout at night. To face this , in each room we have battery operated ‘emergency lamps’ that light up automatically , one torch light , besides this we keep a candle and a small kerosene lamp and a pack of match box near the electrical switch box. Well there may not be charge in the battery of emergency lamp, the battery in torch light may be discharged, but the candle and kerosene lamp are always handy. What about your place, how do you handle the sudden darkness? Prof

I thought it is only here in our country! So also in your place, the power failure has been frequent! I hate power failure. It practically disables me from performing well. First it is hot, second, computers and other office equipment can't operate. Even if there is generator, it can't fully supply. We can use the other equipment but no air-condition. I hate candles, I don't want them lighted so that if the power failure happens at night, I prefer using rechargeable lamp and flashlights. Candles are mostly made of paraffin and this is bad for our health. Inhaling their smoke is dangerous to our respiratory system so I totally avoid lighting paraffin candles inside the home. It is okay if the candles are made of soy or beeswax which are all but natural.

hi professor we keep flashlights and battery powered lamps and candles but rarely need to use them during the summer though we have rolling borownouts during the day to save electricity when everyone thinks they have to set the thermostat at 60 instead of 80 which would save so much electricity but people are so selfish at times in the US sad to say but true.

Luckily we don't have to deal with regular power outages or failures here. However, that doesn't mean that we don't stay prepared in case of the occasional power failure. We have very few candles in our house, but we do have more than our fair share of flashlights. We have about five flashlights in the house and they are all in places that are easy to get a hold of in the event that we have a loss of power.

Hello sir, Fortunately we don’t have much problem with power cuts this time, so far. But the situation will be changed soon as the temperature is rising and everybody started to use the air cooler/air condition, which consume much power. The government may force to implement the power cuts by saving the electricity for future. It is frustrating when power off in the mid night when all are in deep sleep. Nothing can be done but to use a paper or plastic hand hold fan to get some relief. Emergency light and candles are keeping near to the bed for using in such a situation.

I have no choice... my electricity was shutdown! except for the fridge, and using extention cords to use the computer, everywhere other room has a battery operated lantern.in these tough economic times, one has to do what he has to do to survive.
