First of all i don't deny Jesus is a God. I have read bible and have the book in home too. I like many sayings of Jesus. I like to read every religion, i have read Kuran and so on... Jesus had told many beautiful things..They are good to us. But Christan the follower of Christ are not doing what he is saying. Jesus said" do good to those who hate you" Jesus said"love your enemies" Jesus said" The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wire" Many friends, become angry with me, just because in my topic there is God, the Jesus. Is it good being a Christian to hate people, to condemn people, somebody even said silly discussions. Jesus said love your enemy. Are they doing same what Jesus saying. If you can't love your enemy then you no longer a real Christian?

I believe it says something along, turn your other cheek, and you know your neighbors are not always your friends, in fact are hardly your friends most the times, you fight for privacy.

Matthew 5:44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Luke 6:27 But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also.

All religion teach the good things. Whether the followers or believers do that or not, it is all depends on oneself. But we can't say if we can't love enemy than we are no longer Christians. this case has a similarity with moslem bombing while Islam love peace very much.

Bible is just a guideline.. One need not really be following what's in there.. Whatever works for the writter might not be suited for others.. And if others will to really do what's in the bible, unwillingly, will that be a kind of forcing?? lol =D I can hate my enemy and yet at the same time, love them.. SO how?? What does that make me?? Just like our ex wife or gfs etc?? Due to some happenings, which makes us hate them, but still loving them at the same time.. lol =D

The Bible is the word of God. The choice to be following or not is up to each of us. How can you love and hate at the same time. Hate comes from the human part of us. God gives us the love that we can love with. What is impossible for man is possible with God. We have to ask God to give us the ability to love those that we hate, and I can tell you it does not happen just over night, we work at it. But it becomes a part of us when we let it. It is still a choice that we make! Giving it over to God makes it easier.

this is so true.. many who claims to be christans sure dont what God really want them to do. but then they will be the first to judge others and mistreat people. i've seen this first hand. but i think God wants us not judge others, be nice to all love all forgive those who done us wrong.

Very good wisdom here, True Christians will not ever judge another, they will however, and correctly so go to the wrongdoer and help them back onto God's path.

this is nice topic i like this discussion.maybe your friend can become angry to you because you tell there is god that is jesus. but from bible we can read that jesus says to us even the world can hate us but but jesus will not hate us he will bless us and spread his love, blessing and prosperity to us. but people forget that when they angry to those who confessing about christ they are angry to the lord jesus christ.but as a christian we need to obey the lord we should love each other because nothing can separate us from the love of god.as a human being we should love each other that is really wonderful.whenever we love our human being enemy its like put a hot coal in demon head.

The authors statements are not attacking. His point reflects over how religion serves as a curtain for many people who claim to do God's work and yet do just the opposite.

I agree with you. We all need to spend more time with Jesus, absorbing his nature, because the book also says to be filled with the Spirit of God (through Jesus) and that "God is Love" 1 jn 4:8.. and "love is never rude.. doesn't boast.. does no hurt.." (can't think of the reference offhand)

hi Vine. You have made a valid discussion. I am a Christian and I try to be Jesus follower to the best of my ability. Mahatma Gandhi made the same remark as you did. He said that he would have been tempted to convert to Christianity if the saw better example from the Christians he met in his life. Although I am a Christian this does not mean that I am perfect. Nor are the Christians you have encountered. It is very easy to judge others but its more difficult to live a good life yourself. The Hindu, Islam and Judaism teaching and that of other religion, all have noble teachings, but not every follower is leading an exemplary life. You ll find good and bad people in every religion.

Unfortunately, people are human. We are not perfect. We will fail. We will mess up. And that is why Jesus came to earth. To save us imperfect people (I AM VERY IMPERFECT). When we fail, when we sin as Christians, we ask for forgiveness and try again to live how we should, do what we need to do. If we have never tried to follow God's commandments, to love our neighbor...I'd say a person was never a Christian in the first place. If a person says they became a Christian, but their behavior has not changed, where is the difference that Christ has made? However, when I am rude to someone or I hold a grudge, I am sinning. But I do realize when I have done wrong. And I ask for forgiveness, and the strength to not do that again, or to get rid of feelings like that. Being a Christian is an every day decision. One is already saved, but to show that, a Christian has to get up every morning and decide to live for God. And when we fall down, as all Christians will, we just have to get right back up with the help from God.

Good words but not all are correct, I hope that you do not take offense but may I point out something. You say "Jesus is a God", by God's own inspired word, Jesus is the son of God. The teachings of Jesus are inspired by God. He does teach us to love our enemies and to pray for those that deceitfully use us. There is only one God!

If you live in a way that is not recommended by Jesus, it does not mean that you are not a Christian, it means that you are not a good Christian. To be a Christian, means that you believe in the life of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and his teachings. If you follow his teachings, it means that you are a devout Christian, and so much the better for you, if we as a people, were to take the teachings of the Bible to heart, and have tolerance, and compassion for all peoples the world would be a much better place. With appreciation.

Its a difficult battle to fight, when it comes to religion. I respect you for your bravery if you are currently enduring the feedback on your freedom for thought and speech. Must stand you stance. Many people hide behind it and are total hypocrites, which is sad. Oh yes this discussion will take all kinds of heat we know it.

The stuff in the Bible are just guides.. if you break some rules it doesn't really mean you are not a Christian anymore, people sin and God accepts that and we make up for our sins by asking forgiveness and doing good. realizing that we are at fault and asking for forgiveness...

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me: Joh 14:6 . How can Christians do good to those who hate them or how can they love they love their enemies unless they love Jesus. We must have love for Jesus in our heart. We must adore Him and worship Him then only He would come and abide in our heart and He would grant us the capacity to do good to those who hate us and give us the capacity to love our enemies.
