more and more poeple are struggling for better life by making more and more money...but can more money really buy happiness? I know different people have different opinions...some think yes while others hold the opposite...it's ture that with enough money one can buy all the things one wants, and live a life of comfort and security.however, it is equally true that lack of money causes great distress.it is a common view that'money is the root of all evil'. The pursuit of money drives many people to cheat and steal. In some places there is nothing that cannot be bought with money, resulting in corrupt societies where everybody is miserable. I think whether money can buy happiness mainly depends on how it is uesed...do you agree?

Money can buy a lot of things but happiness...nope. People that have a lot of money may seem happier to those that haven't got much but trust me they aren't always. Happiness is a state of mind that has more to do with ones outlook on life than anything else. I know some people that are filthy rich that are basically happy people but they are not without problems and they do have heartaches and stresses just like those that have no money. I also know some that have money that are miserable. No amount of money or lack of it will change that. The same goes for those with little money.

Money can not buy permanent happiness as money only buys things for a certain amount of time. It also only can buy things that only last so long before you have to either replace them or rebuy them. Money can also only make you a slave to getting more money. So if money gives you happiness and you don't seek other forms of happiness like love or some other activity then you will be a slave for the rest of your relatively short existence. It isn't the root of evil humans do some really mean things to get more and more of the green stuff in the USA and what ever color money is in other countries. Even though most of the money doesn't exist in reality most of the USA Dollar is on a computer some where.

right...money can not buy permanent happiness...can make us a slave to getting more money...to pursuit happiness just following our soul, our heart. money just can buy things for you wanted but not bring you happiness....

Having money can make you feel secure, you can buy your needs, and therefore your wants are also easily gratified but I would beg to disagree that it can buy happiness. Happiness is not for sale, and everyone has different opinions on what makes them happy.

Sometimes, if we reach too much into our own pockets, we tend to open ourselves up for abuse. We don't have to wait for us to get rich before we can help someone. Some people, despite their nothingness, still are able to bring about change. We should not be contented with giving people fish to eat, instead, we teach them how to fish.

It would make me happy to be able to reach into my pocket and give someone some money to help improve their life, it would also make me happy just to know I made someone smile.

money doesnt but happiness. People are just happy to make money because it is used as a status symbol in society. Which for some people is a root of evil because other people will want the status of wealthy and they will do anything to get to that status. Lack of money can cause distress but on the other hand there are poor people who are happier than some rich people by a long shot. It is true that when it comes to living life you do not need money but when it comes to actually being able to take care of a family or yourself you need money.

everyone knows that money cannot buy happiness, but in other way, we also know that nobody can live without money. when you hungry, you have to buy food;when you thirsty, you have to buy water;when you clod, you have to buy clothes...your house, your car, medicine... money doesnot buy happiness, but it can buy things to make us feel happy

I don't know but I think it can make people's life more comfortable or more enjoyable but maybe not necessarily completely happy. I mean there are a lot of things to consider but generally happiness comes from within and I am talking about real happiness. However I can see how having money can make some people happy in terms of lifestyle changes and better everything else. So yeah I guess I kind of agree with you a little.

Hi, People think that money can buy happiness mainly because lack of money can cause so much unhappiness - however these are 2 different things. Hope that makes sense. Thanks, Ian

Money can't really buy happiness, as there are some people that have lots of money, but still aren't happy. To me having money, means I can live comfortably without worrying about paying my bills, as I have had that in the past, but now things are much better. I do have enough takes to pay this week, but I do have the money for them, and it is the first time in a long time, as in times past, I would end up maxing out my credit cards by putting the taxes on them, and it got hard to pay them off, but now that they are paid off, I don't intend on doing that ever again. Money can be a big problem for some people, as the more they have the more they want, and they just can't manage it to well. I have learned how to manage my money now so that I have it when I need it. good luck to you and happy mylotting.

How's that saying go? All the people that say money can't buy happiness are the people with all the money. All I can say is, I would definitely like to find out first hand whether or not money can buy happiness, because all things considered, I think I would be happier with more money than less money. While I've never had a burning desire to be "Bill Gates rich", that is, so much money that you can't even spend it all, I would like to have enough money that I wouldn't have to worry about money anymore. If I had enough money to live a decent lifestyle without being ostentatious, but have the things I want, that let me enjoy life, I would be happy. Would that be money buying happiness?

i do agree with you. i dont think money can buy happiness. but there are some people that think it can. there are very greedy people in this world. alot of people become greedy because they want to live a life of luxury. or they think it is a way to be more powerful than others. or for whatever the reason is they are doing it for their own benefit. some people will do literally anything to make money which alot of the time is not moral or is against the law and that is evil and selfish.

No, i believe Money will not buy you happiness. But Money will sure make life easier, especially if you have many bills or there is a lot of things you need. Because anyone that has a lot of money, really don't show there miseries and problems in life. I'm very comfortable just making enough money to pay my bills, but it would be nice to have plenty of money at times. Of Course, the Bible says that the Love of Money is the Root of all Evil. But if i had a lot of money, like being Rich...i would do something very good with it. I would either make a Home for the Homeless or for Orphans and just Bless People. I'm a firm believer in helping those in need and i know i would personally help anyone i could help, especially if i see they are truely needing some help. I lived on the streets myself many years ago and i've seen a lot of people through struggles in life and i know when someone is using others or if they really need serious attention. I guess you can say God gave me the ability to discern those that really are in need. I just thank God He allowed me to survive through hard times and He also Awakened my view in Life.

Hello, Jimmy. I agree with you that money can bring happiness mainly depends on the way of its use. While I hold a point of view that happiness is not a commodity for sale. Happiness is a feeling from our heart within. To certain extent, the feeling of happiness will follow up when we use money in meaningful things. The hysterical pursuit of money definitely drives people go astray while a decent way to earn money without losting ourselves will lead to a happy ending. ^_^ Happy mylotting!

Money is without a doubt a necessity in life. How much money one needs to be happy is really up to the individual. Being rich doesn't mean you are happy, and being happy doesn't mean you have a lot of money, therefore, I would have to say happiness in itself is a measure of wealth.

is relative I think. Some people like money too much, but some people just use money to but something that they need. But in y opinion, money can't give us happines. Cause no one can't change something or someone that you very-very loved have a nice day buddy...

YES, MONEY CAN BUY HAPPINESS. money allows you more time, and we all seek more time. this could come by having caretakers for our kid,an assistance, a personal chef etc. this control over your time leads to happiness. having money allows you to essentially free yourself from the pursuit of more of it. getting out of the games makes you happy. money allow you buy things that brings people closer together. this social interaction leads to happiness. also, some people get a lot of satisfaction from the pursuit and purchase of "stuff" for themselves or others. having the money to buy more stuff makes them happier. having money frees you from stress of not having money and wondering how you will pay things in the past( if you have debt), present and future. being free of this worry can add to your happiness.

In my opinion, with money, you may not happy ,but without money, happiness will get away from you.Money can bring us delicious food, extravagant clothes, and comfortable house. Then,we live a comfortable life.If we are too poor to be busy running about keeping daily life, and no leisure time to share enjoyment,do you think you are happy?

money is simply a tool to buy material things that could momentarily supply you with happiness and satisfaction. But after a long run, it will never provide you with real happiness. Happiness can be found in simplest things that sometimes because of money we overlook to those things.
