I think the touchpad is really nice to use, but sometimes my hand and fingers get hurt if I use it for a long period of time. So I just bought a USB optical mouse, and it's a little bit more comfortable and easier to use. So what do you prefer? A touch pad or a mouse?

Yes, i agree with you.. It's a lot comfy if you'll use an optical mouse.. especially the wireless optical mouse.. lol Did you buy that thing too??

Lol, I didn't buy a wireless one because I'm currently low on budget. Haha, but I've always wanted one, so I guess I'll buy a wireless mouse one of these days. :D

For most of the things I use keyboard short-cuts, so I use mouse very less. And that is why I use Touch-pad instead. But there are applications like CAD/CAM, Modeling, playing games etc., using touch-pad becomes very tiring, and using keyboard short-cuts is bit difficult. In that case, I use USB mouse.

Definitely mouse. Seem to be able to use much more quickly and accurately with less energy 9all those calories we burn using our mouse or the touch pad right?) . ;o) anyway, also it is easier to keep the computer clean using the mouse. I also much a lot when I am on the computer.

That's true, it's easier to keep the computer clean by using the mouse, especially when your fingers are covered in food. Lol

I always keep my touchpad locked..lol. 'coz I tend to touch it accidentally every time I type, so the cursor keeps on pointing different keys that just interrupts my typing.. so ever since, I've been using my run-on-shine optical mouse, its so cool that it is small enough and has a adjustable wire which makes is very portable, it was a bday gift for me from a close friend..

That happens to me sometimes, too, although not too often. But it really can be a hassle when that happens. Lol.

I always use the touchpad. I didn't think I'd get used to using it but now I'm very used to it and use it all the time. I now find it very easy to use and it never aches my hands.

I like the touch pad, but I don't like using it for long periods of time. It tires out my fingers, and it feels like my middle finger (the one I use for the touchpad) is getting burned out due to the endless rubbing/sliding.

I definitely prefer using the mouse to using a touch pad, except of course if I don't have a choice but using the touch pad like if I forgot to bring my mouse or I have no desk to put my laptop and my mouse on. But recently I'm more into using a trackball. It's a whole lot more comfortable than a mouse. because you only have to use your thumb as opposed to your entire hand to move the cursor. Here's an example picture of a typical trackball : http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Logitech-trackball.jpg

I'd love to try the trackball! It seems nice, and I think it feels good, doesn't it? Lol. Too bad I don't see trackballs being sold in computer stores here. If I see one, I'll definitely get one!

I like to use the mouse rather than touch pad. The mouse is much more convenient and easy to use. I love China

i think as regards laptop touchpad still is comfortable than the mouse one also because normally laptop are created for portability so having much hardwares to take just for the laptop use is uncomfortable and so touchpad it cna be considered a good solution as well..as regards the different usage i never found so much differences between mouse and touchpad they are both precise and comfortable.

I like using the mouse much better. I guess I am just more used to it than the touchpad. My next laptop will also have the numbers at the side like a regular keyboard. I hate looking for them at the top.

I do not mind whether I am using a mouse or my touch pad. However, the mouse is much more convenient as with the touch pad you may start feeling uncomfortable after a couple of hours usage.

i like using the mouse. That's what i've been used to but i'm having trouble with the usb connection that's why i don't have a choice right now but to use the touch pad. I'm still learning but i'm easily getting the hang of it. Maybe a few more weeks and i'll be comfortable with the touch pad.

I use a mouse most of the time because the touch pad is awkward when you want to select or move in graphic programs. The mouse is quicker when playing games too. You can get shoulder ache from having your arm in one position too long when using the mouse though ,so it is worth having it sometimes on your lap, sometimes on the table to vary the angle.

I still prefer mouse than touch pad. From my experience using touch pad for very long time make my palm hurt. If I use mouse for long time nothing will happen to my palm even when I play game. I use ergonomic mouse so it will be save for my palm, sometimes when I am using touch pad I feel doing every thing very slower than using mouse.

I personally prefer the mouse even if I use the touchpad for over 99% of the time. The reason is that tis better for gaming. If I don't play, then I can be with my touchpad though. Sometimes I play with my touchpad though...

It's really hard to play games on the computer without a mouse. I use the touch pad when I have to hook my laptop up to the printer and I just can't get used to it. It is too sensitive. I'm glad I have the cordless/USB mouse attached to my laptop - though I might spend less time on here if I didn't have it.

I still use my touchpad, though I have been planning for the longest time to buy a USB mouse along with a cooling pad, I just can't seem to get to my things to buy list. Hehehe. It really is easier to use a mouse than the touchpad, cause sometimes when you are using a laptop or a netbook for a long time, it really hurts my fingers to use.

Using mouse is more useful than a touch pad especially when making online works like web designing. It is more convenient compare to touch pad. I always prefer using mouse because it is more convenient and lets you browse easily.
