I like strawberry and pista ice cream a lot. Since I had vanilla from my childhood, I somehow do not prefer it. I was making ice cream at home. But later I stopped making and only buy from the shops or go to the ice cream parlour. Do you make ice cream at home? Or do you buy it outside? What is your favourite flavour?

Normally we buy a one kg or half kg pack of ice cream from the parlor in front of our home, it is economical for the family, flavor is usually vanila, pineapple or cherry.. But some times my daughter in law makes it from ice cream powder using the icecream maker at home.. Thanks, God bless you. cheers Happy posting. Prof

I like having ice cream at a parlour. It may be more expensive, but the quality of the ice cream and the experience are just better. ^o^ Going out for ice cream makes the ocasion special, and I think, the ice cream itself taste better.

i have tried to cook homemade ice cream since my father made an ice cream maker at home... we can cook a tube of ice cream as many as we wanted in different flavors... prepare the ingredients and choose the flavor...but we can not do cooking homemade ice cream everyday and in just normal occasion, we do homemade ice cream in special occasion.. if my sister and i got to our hometown my father would cook ice cream for us at home... i missed those days... and now since i can do homemade ice cream because i do not my ice cream maker, i only buy outside...

Thanks for sharing your pleasant memories with us. I am sure you must have enjoyed eating all flavours of ice cream before. Nothing like eating home made ice cream, if it comes out well.

Buchi, I'm not the type of perfect wife and mother. During my son's childhood I still prepared healthy and nutritive foods for him. After he has grown up and works in other state. I do not like to spend much time in the kitchen anymore. If there is no more stock in the fridge, I prefer to get ice cream from the nearby hypermarket There are various flavors of ice creams which are tasty respectively available there. Besides picking the favorite flavors of other family members, of course I will never miss to get my favorite coffee and chocolate flavors for sure It's really nice to take some ice cream after having meal. Happy posting

Very true. After meal even I used to take ice cream before. Now I left the ice cream in Varanasi Ganga river. It is for practicing non-attachment. We take three dips in Ganga river and leave something which is our favourite. I left ice cream. But after leaving ice cream, I never got the urge to eat it. Now, after meal, I take fruit juice or lussy (yoghurt) or lemon juice.

I made ice cream one time. It tasted good but never really did firm up as much as it should of but I think that I was being impatient. I have not tried to do it since that time. My all time favorite it Peppermint Ice cream, but I also love mint chocolate chip, and Moose Tracks ice cream is amazig and so is New York Cherry. All ice cream is great though.

Ohhh...I love ice cream, especially chocolate and corn. I don't know how to make ice-cream (and lazy too), so I usually get my ice-creams from outside, especially Baskin Robbins and Haagen Daz. I love Haagen Daz chocolate ice-creams - rich and creamy!

We know how to make ice cream but its more economical if you are going to buy it from the supermarket. Its actually better to have it that way cause ice cream from the grocery store costs a lot cheaper than making it yourself.

I thought making ice cream at home is economical. However, making at home is messy and time consuming. Instead we can as well buy outside in a good shop.

hey buchi...i don't make ice cream at home because i don't know how to..do you have a simple recipe for icecream? guess you would need an ice cream maker or something right? when i was a little kid, i remember my mom making ice cream for me and my brother on those hot summers days but we didn't have an ice cream maker back then so the ice cream was just put in the freezer and turned out hard..but we still enjoyed it. My favourite flavours: i have loads..i like the very berry strawberry flavour from baskin and robbins. they came out with a limited edition of dulchi express which was a coffee flavoured ice cream ( i'm a big fan of coffee )and i just absolutely adored that flavour. wish they bring that flavor back on the list.

I do not have any recipe of ice cream making with me. I do not make it now at home. I am also a coffee lover. I am sure I too will love that coffee flavoured ice cream. But it is not available here. I was making ice cream by grinding it in the mixie. I did not have ice cream making machine with me.

Haa ! What a cool discussion Now who won't love to talk about icecream? I make good ice cream at home but I opt for the safe vanilla flavour and I add some e xcitement to it by decorating it with caramelised butterscotch, nuts and chocolate sauce.EArlier I also used to make kulfi at home but thsi was years ago.Even at home, nowadays I buy Amul vanilla ice cream and add the colorful toppings to this on rare occasions.

We eat a ton of ice cream at our house. It is a family favorite of desserts. I have an ice cream maker and I have used it on endless occasions to make my own ice cream. It may be more time consuming than running to the store and buying already made, but it is worth it. Nothing tastes better than homemade ice cream thay you have made with your own hands. When it comes to flavor, chocolate is the winner hands down!

Very true. home made taste is entirely different and we get satisfaction too.

I have got an old recipe book in the cupboard with dozens of home made ice cream recipes but I have never made any of them. Ice cream seems to be one of those things that is more expensive to make and buy. From what I gather it is more time consuming too. I prefer to buy my mint chic chip or vanilla ice cream from the freezers in the supermarket.
