Normally, you start learning at school being still a young person usually about the age of six or seven. Once you finish carreer, usually people start working. But sometimes, you loose your job and it might be quite difficuld to find another work. Nowadays plenty of people are unemployed. Because of the financial crisis, it seems that there are not enough jobs for so many people looking forward for one. Do you think it's a good time for unemployed persons to study again? Do you think there is a limit of age to study? If you are an adult person used to work, but you are unemployed right now, would you like to go to university again?

I don't believe there should be age limit to be a student. Knowledge is a continuous process and so is learning. Age is not a factor when an individual wants to learn. We should be proud when a person or a senior citizen goes into high school or elementary for that matter and not make fun of it.

I agree with you. There are some circumstances that one will not be able to continue his studies . He need to save to finance for his study. So by the time he has the money, he can continue going to school regardless of age. what is important is interest and ambition to finish a degree.

That's it. I think, everybody who has got the posibility and the desire to study should go on with it, independent of their age. There already exist different samples of seniors who started a new carreer and they gave us a big example about if a persons really wants to study, just can realize it. There's now excuse to fail.

People discover things new everyday. There shouldn't be an age limit to be a student. In fact, we all are students. We learn something everyday. Going to school at older age is actually a noble thing to do. This shows that people are open to learn something new and this is supposed to be our attitude. It promotes the youth to be open minded and change their perception of the older generation. My dad went back to school to study nursing at 40. You heard me right 40 years old. He hit top of the batch. The older you get, the wiser you get. The older you get, the less brain cells you have left that is why it is harder to memorize things as we get older. This smashes the the cliche "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" . You can teach them new tricks, it will just be harder.

Learning is a continuous process, so it should not be limited to any age group. After graduated from college, I have learned a lot of things but I don't think it should end there. We are still learning while we're alive. Learning while we're still breathing is one of the best things we can attain in life.

I think there should be no age limit in being a student. I have a friend who is taking another major these days and she has a classmate who was already 50 years old. She said that her classmates story was that when he was young, he did not have the chance to study cause they were poor. He wanted to graduate but his parents couldnt send him to school. When he got married, he worked hard for his family until his eldest son graduated to be an engineer. His son had a very stable job and he knew the fact that his dad wanted to finish his studies, he sent his dad to school to fulfill his dream to graduate. Well, isnt that sweet?

No, I don't think there should be any age limit on students. Those older people who wants to study again might be doing it for the betterment of their lives and also their families. I don't see anything wrong with it personally as I always see people who have sons as old as I am (21) studying in my university.

Studying is part of growing. So there is no age limit to acquire knowledge. Well there are plenty of unemployed maybe because of the law of supply and demand. The best way is to learn more things and to learn how to earn. Well basically, some universities or school are into academic qualifications .. well is is important and so is financial education. They are both important but some schools and universities are forgetting one of them. They say that "Your future is created by what your do today, not tomorrow. We go to school to learn to work hard for money. But we have to look for way so money works hard for us. These things were the knowledge i got from Mr. Robert Kiyosaki.

That's of course an interesting philosophy or point of view and very realistic. More people should reflect about it to help them taking a right decision about what do you really expect from live.

There should be no age limit for learning and it does not matter if you went to University or not. I have never been to University, but while I worked, I did upgrade myself. I took a bookkeeping course but it did not do that much good because there were so many office workers at the time. I do feel that it would be hard, not because of the inability to learn, but because of being unable to pay for a course. However I feel that for an older or mature person, trying something new would be better because oftentimes when there is a recession they sort of let the older ones go.

definately not. People should not be restricted to only being able to study up to a certai age. that would make little sense. Every country has their challenge in relation to providing adequate and suitable paying jobs for their citizens. That fact points to the automatic marginalization of some persons. Person who within a certain category will have to make do with what they have and keep trying to make things work. This means not everyone will be able to move on from secondary to tertiary education at the same time. Some persons have to work for years before they can finally go and study at the tertiary level. The fact also exist that some professionals will decide to switch careers or attain additional skills. If this happens for some people at age sixty then the decision should be theirs to make not the state. I would consider that to be state limitation to the process of education and personal academic progression.

I believe that there is no age limit for learning. As long as you wish to learn, you can do it. Just take a look around the world, there are older people out there who are still attending university to learn all they can. It's just a matter of whether you want to do it or not.

no. everyone has the right to learn no matter how old he/she may be. unemployment is a global problem. it cannot be solely solved by studying again. taking up a course that has more employment opportunities might be of help to unemployed people but if one does not really like what he/she does, success would not come easily. studying again is preferable if you choose and believe that you want to learn something new. in our university, there are a lot of old students. they simply want to learn things that they have not known before. if you don't want to change your career field and stick to what you know but would like to enhance your knowledge about it, you can always take master or doctoral studies. in any case, our hunger for knowledge does not stop when we graduate from school. it is a continual process :)

Learning - This is an image of an girls learning
Hello camomile07 its true that an human is always pursuing his education through out his whole life.Learning is an part of our life which is more consistent than anything else.Well whether we reach the at the top or fail we are required to acquire more knowledge in order to either remain at top or to reach till the top, means stop failing. There is no age limit factor in our education system, even there isn't any limit to our studies its just like an vast resource which never seems ending.Anyways keep it up with your knowledge, Happy mylotting.

Education should always be an important focus in our lives. Age should never be a barrier to learning. Students of every age are vital to this world and should never be discouraged. You are never too old to learn anything new!

Hi, I believe there should not be an age limit to be a student because even when you are old, you can still be learning things due to the ever changing world. And yes, it's true that when one is unemployed, becoming a student again would be something good to do so as to learn more things since time permits. However, if I am an adult who used to work but is currently unemployed, I opted for a shorter duration courses instead of university. First is due to the time commitment and second is due to the cost.

If you talk about formal elementary education, yes I think there should be an age limit. But informal education, on the other hand, is a life-long endeavor. There are so many friends I know who wished they could return to school if there's a chance to. Time is usually one critical factor why most working adults find it hard to beat the books besides fatigue and tiredness. Being unemployed would be a great opportunity for one to return to school/university if one has the means to.

we should not set age limit in education.. education should be accessible to everyone... everybody can not afford a good education especially when you are lacking financially... education is for everybody who wants to learn and use it for future when deem necessary.

If it has a limit of age to study it will be funnily. There are peoples on 35-40 years which want to study more which will help them to get a better job with a better wage. The better wage goes with a perfectly life.So i think there shouldn`t be any age limit to study and be a student.
