Raw Food is best for people with both Insipidus and Mellitus types of Diabetes. Glad that your sugar is coming down. I love eating raw foods - but, I am 19 years of age and diabetes has not touched me yet. http://www.karlloren.com/diet.htm - See that for an explanation and synopsis of how raw food helps people with Diabetes

I to do not have diabetes (yet). However both my parents found out they were diabetic about 6-7 months ago. My dad is having a hard time digesting the fact that he cant eat everything he wants anymore. What kind of raw food do you eat? I know that sounds odd but im trying to think of some suggestions to pass on to him. Thanks :)

When you say "raw foods", do you mean vegetables and fruits? Not meats?? right?? It is very important for Type 2 diabetics to control their disease by daily diet. I am currently studying this disease in my class. I have written two papers so far about Type 1 diabetes. It is an interesting disease. I hope you continue to monitor your food intake and blood glucose levels. Don't forget to get some exercise also as that helps to keep your levels balanced. I personally am not diabetic but one of my daughters is diabetic and two of my daughters have been hypoglycemic. I tend to be hypoglycemic at times. We all have to watch our diets constantly so we can be healthy. We keep a lot of healthy snacks around. When I don't feel quite right, I eat something and that usually helps a lot.

My sister was a diabetic and so I know the complications with it. Though she never would eat raw foods, I am positive that is a key factor to keeping your sugar levels down.

This helped you because raw foods especially fruits and veggies lose fiber when cooked so they are not as filling and do not help to flush out the bodily junk. It is always good too because many processed foods have hidden carbs due to the processing it's self. There are those items though that are better for you if cooked and looking into them would be a good idea as to meet the full potential of everything you eat. Like broccoli if steamed just to the point of becoming bright in color (not fully cooked) it actually brings some flavonoids to their full potential and is healthier for you. I have gestational at the moment and have also increased my raw food intake I also increased my mineral intake which was amazingly helpful. I was able to drop my nightly medication to in half within two weeks of using the supplement and have been able to stay at this point for months (I was diagnosed very early) when all the dr,s thought for sure I would be on insulin the next time I saw them, every time I saw them. Good for you and good luck in the future.

It works with most of the dark green veggies like spinich and collard greens too. It's just when they are cooked to mush that they lose all the good stuff. In truth I like them better with a little crunch.

My dad is diabetic and he also had a lot of trouble before. He sometimes eat raw food but he eats green leafy vegetables all the time. He also maintain taking supplements made from bitter melon. Bitter melon is said to be very effective to lower blood sugar. They are available in the market. My father take those pills at the same time he eats them for a dish. Of course, it was really bitter but he has to endure it cause its for his own good.
