If you were president ,what problem would you work on first? If I were the president ,I think I would solve the problem of jobs. The unemployment rate is pretty high, and there are really no jobs for the jobless. What problem would you work on first?

I would definitely tackle the unemployment situation. I would lower taxes on businesses and give tax credits to people for going back to school. This would increase the financial health of businesses, especially small businesses that employ over 60% of the working people of this country. It would make colleges and universities thrive from the tuition. While it might lower tax revenues at first, more people would be employed and spending money. I've heard that the gov't is already doing something like the college credit thing. There's a lot more to be done in getting people back to work. I would also give big businesses incentives to pull their productions back to the U.S. from Mexico and other countries. And I would make every state a right to work state so people would have a choice whether to hire a union worker or a non-union worker.

Lower taxes would be great.things are too expensive. In my state property taxes are very high, that's why I could never own a home.I could not afford the tax on it.Alot of people have expired their unemployment benefits. It would definately help if there were more jobs for these people to try for.

There are jobs out there but no one wants them @Java09 Too many people think some jobs are beneath them so they claim there aren't any. High school graduates have gotten it into their heads that they should get high paying jobs and if they can't find one they whine about no jobs being available.

Just like you I would work on the joblessness first. I'd force any American business owners to bring their production back to America from overseas, that would create lots of jobs back here. I would also start a program to help the jobless/homeless be trained to work in those jobs instead on only hiring people with eons of experience. Once that was taken care of I'd work on the welfare system, which I feel is being horribly abused. I will make it mandatory that anyone receiving welfare must do several hours of community service or volunteer work (minimum 20 hours a week) in order to keep their welfare benefits.

I would make sure that no one pays more than 10% tax on income! I strongly believe that anyone working hard ought to put his or her money in mhis or her pocket and simultaneously sign an executive order that gives anyone over 70 years of age a free pass: That means, if you are over 70, you pay no tax on anything: By 70 you must have seen your share of troubles and I think you are then entitled to a complete break in life! I would dive into the budget since that is where everything ties in. I would take out EVERY pork project. And then start looking at different parts that are not in the Constitution. I would shave government back so far. Then I would look at the tax code, scrap that completely and go with a flat tax across the board. I would them pay off all debt. Get rid of the fed as the government should be printing the money. Then I would work with the states to knock out all entitlement programs except social security. Social security will only go to those that have paid in it. I would enforce the current immigration laws, this would create more money in the long run. With a fair tax, businesses will start and businesses will expand thus creating jobs. BUT the President does not really have any power so that was a nice fantasy...

I would deal with illegal immigration. While this woudn't solve all of our nations problems,it certainly would help.It would help with economics, health care and unemployment. Before anyone says that illegals do the jobs Americans won't,stop!Americans do the jobs illegals are doing all across this country everyday.Anyone that doesn't know this is not living in the real world. The economy would be better because the jobs that illegals are doing would have to pay Americans a better wage. That would give them more money to spend. They would also pay taxes that illegals don't. Health care would be better because we wouldn't be wasting millions,if not billions on giving free health care to illegals. If you don't agree with these things, tough. The truth hurts sometimes.

I think when we expect Presidents to create jobs we are all a little "pie in the sky" with our reality. The president has little to do with the economy except in times of disaster like recently but he can encourage small business startups or he can create government projects but he has taken huge hits for doing that already. What Presidents do towards the ecomomy are very slow moving policies and that can be good and bad. Banking reform with consumer protection would have been my first priority along with forcing the banks to fix the mortgages that they sold all over the country. They should have re-written the loans and taken the loses so that the economy would start recovering from the bottom up. But he is the President and cannot force congress to act so my ideas would have never gotten through a bank owned congress.
