Ebay Help!

So I'm trying to sell some books on Ebay, and I need a little help! One of my books have sold, and I don't know what I'm suppose to do now! lol How do I complete the transaction? What other steps do I need to take after someone wins one of my books? And just something else I'm wondering about, if I was unhappy with a winning bid, can I take it off the market? Thanks!

Ok, I'm guessing that you have a Paypal account, correct? I think Ebay wants all transactions to go through Paypal now I believe. They should pay you through Paypal, and as soon as they pay you, you can ship your book. If they don't pay you, you don't ship. Make sure that their address is correct on your box, and that it is packed well in the box. Put your return address on it just in case. I'm not quite sure what exactly you would like to know. I hope this helps some.

Yes I have paypal...but ebay still allows other payment types--I few I've never heard of, and then credit cards. I thought I read somewhere that if you aren't happy with the bid price you could drop the item, that's why I asked. Thank you

This is good advice, I forgot about the "don't send until you pay" because I pay through paypal as soon as I bid.

I forgot your one question....the answer is NO, once a bid is put in place, you cannot remove it because you don't like it.

Unfortunately it may not look good if you take something off the market if you're not happy with the price - the person may leave negative feedback :( As for completing a transaction, once the item has been won, send the buyer an invoice & wait for them to pay...once they have paid, send the item (I normally hand write a reciept too) & once posted, mark it as posted in ebay & leave the buyer feedback. I hope this helps you. Good luck in selling your items.

If they were ebooks, then you would just send it, then mark it "shipped"...so you would just use adobe reader or some other ebook viewing/creating program to put a lock on the document and send it to the buyer. but you would have to make sure that the buyer can open it or can download the program necessary to open. for next time, you should make which program you will be using clear... if they are regular paper books, then you can just print the shipping labels at home (i recommend usps), then take the label to the post office and tape it/package it there if you don't have any boxes at home (boxes are still free at the post offcie, but the bigger the more expensive the shipping..

I'm selling actual books. I have boxes to use to ship, and I could just write the address on the box. But the thing I don't know how to do is complete the actual transaction ON the internet. And I don't know how the buyer is planning on paying.

Oh no, I'm not selling ebooks. I'm selling actual books, I'm selling them through Ebay. I'll be mailing them to the buyer, but I don't know how to complete the transaction on the site.

Just be careful before you decide to sell ebooks on ebay and make sure you follow their Digitally delivered goods policy. http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/downloadable.html Good luck with your sales.

I would check back on the SOP with Ebay, but I would also say you may need to check on the shipping address, in order to send the item sold. I don't think you can retract your sale item once its published and some one puts a bid for it.

I can only tell you from the buyer's perspective. I always get a confirmation notice from the buyer with an estimated time to send out and arrival time. For instance: Thank you so much for your order! We (I) really appreciate your business. We are shipping your order of _____________ (whatever I bought) on ___________ (usually that day or the next day. Estimated time of delivery is ______ to ________ days (whatever the carrier told them like FedEx, US Postal Service, Mailboxes etc.. . ..). I would make sure the address is sufficient and accurate enough to get where it is supposed to go, then send it out. If it's worth very much, I would insure it. It was up to you as a seller to put a minimum bid that you would except. If you did not put a minimum bid that would make you happy, then you're going to have to "bite it." An unhappy customer will give you a negative rating or put it into arbitration with Ebay. Ebay may not allow you to do further transactions. It's an auction. You're supposed to accept the highest bidder's bid. If you start at a dollar, then you're gambling that you will loose money unless it cost you 10 cents or nothing and you can send it as a post card for twenty something cents or you told them postage was extra. When I sold things, I did my sales through Vbay. It was a Vermont ebay business. You bring things to them and they sell them for you. They asked me how much I wanted to get. Then they figure how much they want to get on top of that. Then they do the pictures, the write-up, and everything for you. Unless it costs you nothing and you tell them postage is extra and it's _____ (that you prechecked with the mailing service) or you don't mind taking it as a loss, always put a minimum bid that you will accept.

hi lilyofthe thorns, it is a new question to me,once i registered with ebay and nothing was done by me and i left the site, till now neither i have buy or sell any thing in buy,i think ebay is popular bidding site, still you are unhappy with the bid,but you may find or not in open market,or you to wait until your favorite bid will come,i hope and wish that you get the best bid for your book, have a nice day

Once you ship the book out you can go and mark it as shipped. Remember that in the states you can send a book via media mail for much cheaper then other ways. No you cannot take back a sale because you do not like the bid. If you have a set price you must either start at that price or have a bid minimum on the sale. Make sure buyer pays before sending as well. Good luck
