Can you feel the huge population of myLot community?

As of now, myLot has already more than 200,000 members. I don't know if you can also feel what I have noticed, that it seems like members are just less than a thousand or even just a hundred. Since the personalities you will encounter here every time you visit are often the same people. I have no negative connotation to that, actually I even find it good since it will make people here much closer to each other and more friendships will be made. Maybe the reason is there's really only a small percent of members who are active. What do you feel and what are your thoughts about these? Can you feel the huge population of myLot community? Or you only feel a small percent of it?

I had a look at the member list and there are hundreds with 0 or 1 post - people who have joined but not stayed on here. I have around 150 friends all of whom I do see regularly posting on here. Imagine what the discussions would be like if all 207,042 members were active!! I would like to see the number of members actually online as some other sites do.

Yah, there's really a lot of members who are inactive. And there are also a lot of those like what you have mentioned, only signed in but almost didn't do anything after. It's good that all of your friends remains active. If all the members are active, I am wondering if it will cause a discussion more responders or less. Well, myLot will really become so busy and might crashed down if that happen. Lol! I think what we have now is just better and just a good number of active people. Thank you for your response.

My scores of referrals are a testimony to this. They showed keen interest and now they are sleeping

I couldn't imagine if all 200,000 members posted one discussion each a day. That would be insane! I haven't referred anyone yet. That's upsetting when you refer someone and they post a few times and then you never see them again. It is sad that a lot of people don't stay on myLot. It's a shame. myLot is a great time.

Mylot should be proud to have so many members. We all come from different cultures an walks of life. We inspire and encoursge each other. Wouldn't it be something if we found a topic for discussion that involved every member of mylot? What would it be like to have every mylot member give a response to the same discussion? I think we would definitely feel how huge our population truly is.

Yes, that would be amazing, but it would take us a long time to read all the responses!!

You got a point there. The population may be huge but we tend to come across only a few hundred people every time we come in here.As you say most of the members are inactive most of the time.

Yah, but actually it's been a good thing since it made us easier to be familiar with those active members. But still we are hoping that more people will not just join but will stay and spend a lot of time here in myLot. Thank you for your response.

For more than 2 years of stay here, as active as i can be, it's always my big wish to see mylot grow, be near to the popularity of facebook and other social sites. I wish to see more people coming here, not just to join but be as active like us. We can still make it if we all work together to promote this wonderful site.

Yah, it will be better if more people will join us here and be active as well. But many of those members of facebook or friendster are just joining to view pictures and gain friends. Yes, they can only do it here but those SNS I have mentioned were made for that. Members here should be patient and knowledgeable to stay active. But yes, I'm sure there's still a lot of people out there who may possibly love this community of myLot. Yes, we should continue promoting this site. Thank you for your response.

I haven't been a member here long but think it's quite buzy here with members starting and commenting on discussions as there always seems to be something new to join in with. I couldn't imagine what it would be like if all the members were active, it would be hectic then.

Yah, there's a lot of discussions to participate in. Including those old discussions. We can still respond to them. If all members will be active, myLot will really be very very busy. Thank you for your response.

Yes, myLot is growing daily .I have quite a few referrals myself, but it's such a shame that I cannot encourage them to be more active. I think they would enjoy these discussions as I do and many of the other active members here. It's a great place to be.. _Derek

there maybe over 200,000 registered users, but I'm going to bet that there are no more than a few thousand active at any given time. And you tend to run into the same people because 1) you run into the ones on your friends list and 2) you tend to run into the ones in the same interests as yours.

We may not yet as huge as other social networking sites like facebook and friendster but still in the present population of myLot, we can already be able to meet a lot of different personalities. Thank you for responding.

For as many people who sign up here, there are those who lose interest within a matter of days at least. Such is the nature of the Internet. Out of everyone who signs up at a website, there is only a small fraction that will be able to stay around. I think there are a few thousand who post on a regular basis. Still most of people who sign up will never stay past the first week. Plus there are people who do not post that often. People who leave for periods of time and return. So I think that people sign up with here and get frustrated for whatever reason. After all, as good as myLot is a good and excellent website for many, it is not for everyone. So out of everyone who signs up, I think only a small percentage will be around for a long haul and it varies. Maybe a couple thousand are posting on a regular basis.

Many have signed up but only some are really bent in participating in the discussions here. Why? Not everyone who signed up know English. Others know only very little of the language we are using here. Some are just not up to discussion. Still others do not see the real value of being here. The ones who are actively participating in the discussions here know why they are here. But why should we worry about those who are not here? For as long as active members continue to pour in their ideas and opinions, Mylot will continue to be around and to reign in the world of foruming.

I agree with you. Out of the 207,000 Mylot members, I see the same people commenting on many discussions and only feel I encounter a tiny percentage of the 207,000. I think a lot of people just join, then give up or maybe write one or two responses and that's all. It's a shame really, as I like hearing the views of a wide range of people, all ages, all nationalities.

I think it's a shame too. I mean, they're missing out on so much! These inactive members could learn so much and have so much fun, but they chose to give up and most of them, to never return. I would like to see as many views and opinions as I can. It makes my time worthwhile here. I love making new friends and learning new things. And of course, earning money is a good bonus!

I don't think population of 207,123 is a huge number as a international forum. In China, Chinese forum like Tian Ya have a population of 38,610,613, and always have a online population of over 300,000. I think myLot should extend the topic of discussion. and...Maybe westerners don't like forums?

hi harold yes indeed i feel that only a small percentage of all who are members here are really active like I am. But I love that as I get to know my great mylotfriends really well that way and can respond to them intelligently and with love and kindness too. I feel only a small percentage of the huge number there really are, and I am overwhelmed that I of all people lead in the rankings when there are so many many people signed up here.

Hey Harold, I think that I often do forget how huge myLot actually is! I am so used to coming here everyday and seeing alot of the same people and always meeting new people that I just don't even think about the size of the actual community! And as you say, not all are active, or active sometimes. I have been here 3 years this month and I still love it here and ejoy all the time I spend here!
