WHY??? It is a little annoying!!

Yesterday when I responded to a discussion the web site went a little WWHHOOO - as it does from time to time, and the response went on twice.
Yes delete one but why on earth do Mylot delete both posts!!!
It was because of this site going loopy that it happened in the first place.
It does annoy me a little - I was determined I'd have no dreaded 'notifications' today but I got two for that and one for a discussion I joined in that seemed OK to me!!
Shuks!!

Hi Oldchem, I have just released that this was in one of my discussions and yes myLot was playing up that night as when I tried to post it would come up with diagnose connection problem but there wasn't one as all my other tabs were working. Sorry that these were deleted, can understand one but not two. Huggles. Ellie :D

When I first came back I answered a few discussions with no responses an now know why as they were deleted and another one which I couldn't understand why, also can't understand why both no one of yours was deleted. Oh well. Could luck for today :D Huggles. Ellie :D
Perhaps today will be my 'no notifiactions' day - so far so good!!!!

A double deletion would likely be an accident. Which discussion was it in? Can you provide a link?
Would you like an explanation for the other discussion being deleted?

I have a feeling now that three may have gone on, I was having REAL trouble with the site.
I got two knocked off and thought that was all so I pout it on again and then saw that the original was still there!!
So I did press the (!) on the newest and asked for it to be removed although I think that it is still on.
The other discussion was Original Question Title: Star story

When it happens that you make a double post due to a glitch or connection problems, then report the second one immediately using the (!) report icon. Admins will remove only the second one then and usually quite quickly before anyone comments on it.

It is something new added during the latest upgrade some months back. If we all use it, for our own duplicate posts and those that we notice posted by others, it helps admin and we can help keep myLot clean

I have been a member here for a few years now. I went away for almost a year, only coming on now and then. I rarely ever had any discussions I got involved in deleted back then. Now that I am back, I am getting at least one message a day telling me that the discussion I was in was deleted. I don't know why. To my knowledge, they weren't breaking any rules. It is weird. And, I have had that double post thing go on. Now I just open myLot in one tab, then open a discussion in another tab. I make a comment on that discussion and hit post response. Then I got back to the original tab and start on a new discussion in a new tab while the last one is loading and posting. That seems to have solved my double post problem.

hi oldchem1 this happens a lot lately and I always hit the report exclamation point so mylot can delete just one of them so people will not get responses on it and then get them deleted. but I have no idea why they would delete both. unless they saw you had broken some mylot rule with the remaining one.Or again it could be another mylot glitch again.
Mylot seems to be doing a landoffice business of deleting. wow.
