Are you afraid of Spiders and Snakes?

Spiders scare me. I don't like them. I appreciate the purpose they have on earth. The earth would be overrun with insects if it weren't for spiders. But they are still creepy! Snakes don't bother me. I don't like big snakes like pythons and boa constricters. I don't like the ones that could squeeze the life out of you. I saw a diamond back rattle snake when I was at the botanical gardens last year. He was very beautiful and I had a healthy fear of him. We took photos from a distance. We didn't disturb him and he didn't disturb us. I'm not afraid of garden snakes or black racers. They are harmless. I used to want a pet red rat snake, but I could never do it because I couldn't bare the feeding. Poor mice.

i hate both.. and im afraid of both.. i can never come near somebody that is holding one or raising one!

I loathe snakes. Spiders don't bother me....the webs do, especially if I walk into one and it tangles in my hair. Gross.

I used to be terrified of spiders. I often woke screaming because a big hairy Huntsman (tarantula) was coming down on my face (not really: just in my nightmares) I am thankful that I no longer worry about them. I don't like them, but they don't bother me. When I was about 11 my second step father (who was possibly the most evil man I've ever known) tied me up under the house. (Many Queensland houses are build on stilts, high enough to walk under) He tied me to one of the posts and brought out four large Bushells coffee jars. Each had a big, hairy, Huntsman in it. One by one, he emptied each of the three jars inside my clothes. His brown eyes were flashing and horrible and he was scratching himself like a monkey. I won't go into details of all that happened. He brought out the fourth jar, took the lid off, and held it on my head. As he lifted the jar, the spider started crawling down my face ... ... ... I fainted - the first time of many. It became my "escape" many times in the coming years. Every day after that, every time he was near me, he would hiss "ugly freak!" It was many years before I got over that, but one day in May 1992, as I poured out my heart to my gracious heavenly Father, He took me through that time and completely healed me of all hurt. It no longer bothers me and I can talk about it.

Spiders aren't really an issue, but I hate snakes, I don't even want one by me,they are gross.

I used to work with a guy that pet snakes. Not me, I don't want anywhere close to a snake. I don't like spiders but I am not afraid of them. They are more of a nuisance.

I am not really afraid of Spiders and snakes..but I surely don't want to sit down and pet them like they are my housefhold pets.. I think the thought of holding either of them would send shivers up and down my body..Spiders and snakes have their place..but..I don't believe it is in the house with me!:)+

I don't like Spiders but I'm not afraid of them! I do hate snakes though! I wouldn't allow my boyfriend to have one in the house caged or not - luckily for me he doesn't want one anyway :)

I'm not necessarily afraid of snakes and spiders but I would never touch one. Nor would I want one in my eyes. I kill the spiders I see and I haven't seen a snake in our yard, but if I did I would have to tell Dad to do something to it.

I am scared of spiders!!! I can not stand those creepy, crawly, hairy, eight legged, hanging upside down from a thread, pounce on you when you don't see me, hide under the sheets to bite your butt in the middle of the night bugs! And they are not even bugs! They are arachnids! They are so horrid they have a category all their own! LOL OK, spiders, scorpions, mites, and ticks fall into the arachnid category...but those aren't that great either!!! My son is my spider person. That is, he will get the spider for me. He will either kill it or catch it and set it free. And he knows that if he did not get it, he has to lie to me and tell me he did. But he likes torturing me. LOL So, to prove to me he got it, he will have to show me. ha ha Not really funny when a person is scared of them. And I always seem to be the one person that can spot that one lonely spider in a bush or on the wall. This past Halloween, I saw this horrible spider and begged my partner to get it. Well, he didn't want to kill it yet because we were having a Halloween party. So he got a glass jar and caught it. Would you believe that the spider was so ugly because it had hundreds of baby spiders on its back? Ewwwwww!!!!! I was totally creeped out and was scared all night that someone was going to break the jar and baby spiders would be all over the place!!!!

I LOVE snakes. I think they are REALLY cute. Especially big ones like reticulated pythons! I don't like spiders though. They are creepy.

I'm not afraid of either, only Spiders when they just suddenly appear. but if its a daddy long-legs, or just any other spider sitting there, I dont mind, and could even hold it without caring.

I really don't like them too. I don't think that I would ever have them as a pet. No offense to those who like them.
