Yesterday my husband stopped by our son's house, when DIL asked where I was, her children told her grandma was home doing surgery. Yes, I was. The stuffed pig was about to lose his head. Grandma got out needle and thread and was stitching it back on.

Ha ha, when I first read this I was imagining that you were talking about a stuffed pig of the pig-on-a-spit kind, and I was trying to understand why you were sewing the head back on the pig! Must be something to do with it being the middle of the night here! Well, now that I understand, poor stuffed pig, and good old grandma for performing the surgery to save piggy.

The kids are 5 and 2 1/2. They shocked their mother, but i saw them that night and they were sure happy to see their beloved doing so well. We added ribbon around the neck and it was as good as new.

Quite successful. Went around the neck then back and forth. It should stay for a long time. Added ribbon and better than new. They were pleased. Have a good day. LOL

AS a Grandma I can tell you that this is one of your most important functions. I can't remember how many times a prized animal or shirt came to me for needle work. Keep it up

I think so too. They are the world to me. I am having so much fun watching them grow and learn. If you can not trust grandma who can you trust?

I don't think that I can think of anything that a grandma does better than doing surgery on the beloved of her grandchildren. I remember when I was a little girl my grandma (on my mother's side, my other grandmother was disabled) would do surgery on my animals and such. Now that I have children of my own, it is my mother that is doing the surgeries for my daughter and son's beloved items. You are a great grandma indeed.

hi sallyj oh of course, the poor stuffed pig really needed his head attached back onto his little piggy neck. Your grand children will be so pleased to see Mr.Piggy with his neck all well and made whole again. Its amazing what a little needle and thread can do to remedy things like pig's head falling off.Well as they say alls well that ends'well and now Mr.Pig is all whole and well again. It seems Grandmothers must know things like that.

I am sure enjoying those characters (5 yr & 2 1/2 yr) they can come up with problems that can not always be repaired. This was one that i could handle.

I had visions of what's for dinner and you stuffing a pig but putting the head back on to put the apple in. Oh, I may die laughing!!!!
