This p[hoto shows one of my yellow zuchinni's formed so far. I planted 4 yellow and one green zuchinni this year. Does anyone know if the yellows would also be good for bread? I made bread last year with the green and am curious about the taste etc as far as yellow in a bread recipe. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I have never heard of bread made with yellow squash before, but I am sure it would not be bad. I don't think it would have quite the same flavor, but you could always make a loaf and let us all know.

Yellow zuchinni tastes more tender than the green one. It should not matter or even taste better in bread. Is that straw you put under the plant? Do you put it when they are little or later? I´m having a good time with your posts and pictures (if it weren´t for the envy ) Take care!

That's cut grass from when I mow my lawn. Most my garden has wood chips as a layer of mulch. It all helps retain moisture for the plants. I lay the mulch down right after planting. It also helps stave off weed growth for the most part. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I had seen the wood chips in some of your pictures. I will save some cut grass for mulch in Spring. Wood chips are quite expensive here unless you go out of the city to get them. Thanks. Take care!

I think the yellow have pretty much the same flavor as the green ones and are really nice to eat so should make really good zuchinni bread too .

Hey Grandpa Bob! I love zucchini as I have mentioned before an don't really know what the difference between the green and yellow are in taste! I just know that I love them both! I have never had zucchini bread ever, but know that it sounds wonderfully yummy! I have never even seen any recipes for it either! I can't imagine how it could possible taste as bread! But, since I know what an incredible baker you are I'm sure it must be amazing! Wish you could send me a piece through the screen because as usual you are making my mouth water!
