I had a habit of reading any interesting books for hours in my free time but now though i still love reading books, i don't get enough time like before for my favorite passion.I get excited and get totally involved while reading books and time will fly reading books. Many people read books to get sleep during night times and they have a habit of reading for the purpose of getting sleep. What are your views on this here? do you love to read books or not?

I love reading books that interest me.I can forget time if i start reading a good book. But these days other activities and responsibilities are so many that i can read a few books in a year.If i read an interesting book before i sleep i never get sleep. But if the topic doesn't interest me then i might fall asleep.

You are right as the time flies reading interesting books as you will be totally involved in those books and to tell you i was very much an addict of reading books before and i even remember once spending 3 hours just by going through books in a book shop without having food in the afternoon time.Such was my interest and ofcourse there was also time at those days and not like today where i do have more work to do than reading books which is really bad and i do miss those wonderful younger days when i used spend hours reading books of my choice

I really do enjoy reading. I've enjoyed reading, ever since I was a kid. Although I do enjoy reading a lot and find reading very exciting, there are still some books that won't really interest me as much as others, but I think that this is the case for almost everyone.

It seems that everybody has time only during younger days and once they grow up, many of the wonderful things like reading and all will be missed and will be longing for that though everyone will get little tie for reading but not enough like before.I think on sundays they can enjoy reading books of their liking as it will be a holiday and everybody will be taking a break from their daily schedule

I love to read but it depends on the book if I find it sleepy or not.Sometimes I lose sleep because if reading but somtimes I find sleep because of it to. Especially if the book is like a manual or text book, just 10 min and I feel like snoring.

Don't pick up books which are not of your interest as this will definitely put you to sleep. In other ways, if you only select books of your choice it will be good as you can also slowly develop reading books habit. Many of them do make use of reading books only for sleeping purpose which is strange and also not at all good as it won't help either way

Well,to be honest,I don't like reading books. But sometimes when I am very mad,I will read a book to calm myself down. Then I will feel better rather than worse.I can't control myself in some situations. There is a time I can't stand a person so I fought with him. What he did really made me angry. After that I tried to read a book to settle down and it does a good job.

Well, I would say I like reading books but these days I don't because I don't have enough time to read. Things required are all on net. Some day I read and feel very exciting and not boring. To acquire the habit of reading is to construct for yourself a refuge from almost all the miseries of life. When I read any books, I make my reading time my favorite time of day. Have some good tea or coffee while you read, or another kind of treat. Get into a comfortable chair with a good blanket. Read during sunrise or sunset, or at the beach. You will just enjoy it.

This is a very good discussion alienstar! I love to read books. If a story is interesting enough I will read it in one day. I am constantly going to the library to check out new books! I am very fortunate that the local library has a good selection and frequently gets new books in. Of course there is nothing wrong with re-reading a good book either! I am considered to be a "bookworm" and I am proud of that fact!

I never liked reading books, and I only read what I had to in school. Nowadays I only read my courses from the University and that is where my bookreading habits end.

Maybe you are just thinking on your text books and nothing else here.Just try diverting your attention and see.Get some new books of your interest and you might like it.There are some very interesting writers and if you go through their books, i am sure that you will also likely to get addicted to their books for once and that is definite

Maybe if there is not much content in a book, you can finish it off in one sitting and continues reading is also eye straining and i do take a break in between to go out and look at greenery around and then come back and continue reading as doing like this will relax me a lot and keep me fresh all through. But usually i sit with books with much content when i am totally free

Once you understand what is there in the book, you will go on reading more and more and when you share the things you read in a book with others you will get more inspired and also more happier in life as your friends can also enjoy your knowledge gained by reading books and that is the time you find yourself very happy.I totally get engrossed in any interesting book and as yous aid i also might forget what is happening around me at that time

By reading one can remain young and also by reading more and more one can also become wiser in life as he/she will acquire more knowledge which is very essential in life.I do remember killing more than 10-14 hours a day just by reading when i had enough time when i was young and right now, since i am engaged in work i dont get much time for this

Call me crazy...but I'm head over heals in love with books. Reading is a form of therapy for me. I need to read from time to time. I can't live a day without reading. I don't fall asleep reading, in fact I become more awake when I'm reading.

I think it's a correlation between the book you're reading and the level of interest you have for it. Books have many functions. Like you said, they could be used for people who have trouble getting to sleep. They can be useful instruments in gaining knowledge, helping you figuring out something, and even sometimes as a weapon (especially when you're annoyed at someone). My relationship with books is very ambivalent. At times, I crave for the comfort of books, but these days, I get bored with those easily. There was a time I fell in love with a book so much that I couldn't put it down till I finally finished it. But there are other times where I would only get the book because either the cover looks good or because people I know tell me its good. But more often than not, I end up not finishing the book and using it as a good item for aesthetic display.

Its really confusing lines by you here and it took me awhile to get some points by you.Maybe you are thinking that books are only for limited purpose and should be read only for purpose isn't it? you haven't developed the passion towards any book and this is maybe you don't want to develop any passion or addiction towards reading and so you tend to read half or stop in the middle of any book

before when i was still a student i used to drop by to a bookstore and read books there.yeah,i do read books from bookstores when i was passing time,i really loved reading those interesting books like making money or novel books or becoming a good individual or more of cooking.anything that attracts me.when i was in college i used to have night shift and i make time to go early before i go to school,i would read the novel of the one i wanted to read.it's like reading for free.i remember i would take thirty minutes to one hour then the guard would notice me,that time i would stop then go bsck the other day just to read again, hehe i was kinda addicted to reading novel books back then.sometimes i also do read in our house while passing time then before going to sleep.i loved reading before, but now most of the time i spent my pass time to mylot.this way,i can earn while learning as well.and plus the interaction of people here and fun it brings to make my day a little brighter.i guess mylot is my life now, same as music and reading.

I used to love reading when I was younger, and although I still enjoy it I find that I don't really have the time to sit back and enjoy a good book. Reading can be exciting if you are interested in what you are going to read. I only find books boring when it's something I'm bot particularly interested in it.

I really love to read books...since childhood itself I love it..but my friends used to get bored ..when I read books as they wanted to play with me...lol and till now I have this habit...but the only condition is ..that it should be a book of my taste ..it should not be on a subject that I don't like or a topic i which i don't understand.then I would get sleepy and bored. But if its a really nice book and among my favourites then I can forget things like T.V. or other entertainment activiteis...until I finish the book or I get too tired to read another word from it..

Most of them do develop the habit of reading books through their childhood day's itself and it will be nice if they continue this reading habits even after growing up as it will also help them grow wiser than before and moreover i feel reading is far better than watching entertainment movies all the time.I don't say one shouldn't watch programs in tv, but if it is limited it is fine

Hi there Alien Star! I like reading books a lot. I like different kinds of books too. Whenever I have a free time, I would pull out a book and read that's why I always carry a book with me wherever I go. It keeps me from getting bored and most of the time, when I am on a really exciting part of the book, I have a hard time putting it down that sometimes it becomes my priority over other tasks.

Hello alienstar! I have various reasons why I read books. There are times I read because I love reading books. Like many people, I also read at night so I could easily go to sleep. I read too to kill the time especially when I'm waiting about something. Regarding your question about if reading is exciting or boring, my answer is "it depends." If the book is boring to read, I would say it's boring but if the book is exciting to read, then it is exciting.

I love to read books although with two kids running around me, I do not really get much time to read, but I hope to soon when my youngest is older. Reading a book though for me, does not bore me at all. I find them interesting whether they be fiction or non-fiction. A lot can depend on the book though I think, and I think that some people if they had found a book that they really enjoyed then they would get right into reading, sometimes if someone reads a book that does not do anything for them, or bores them, then it puts them off reading anymore. Some people just do not have time to read a book, and some just do not have any interest in it at all. Personally I think reading is very under rated, and that everyone should enjoy a good book now and again, in my mind it keeps the mind active!

Once you start a family, time will go to children more and household matters also will be important and will take time and hence reading books will take the back seat. But, during holidays like sunday, you can take out some time for reading books. But during other working days, one tends to get tired also and hence reading after work will make you sleep early also
