Sunday is longer than MONDAY.. how many women know this? -- secrete code !

India

I have just remembered ... During my University days, a friend told me the secrete code among women.. This is to tell her other friend, that her inners are showing, and adjustment is needed to protect the decency and modesty! Particularly the bra-straps, which often show out of the dress. It was of the olden days, when WOMEN of my college used to wear Sarees, or Salwar Kameez.. a sort of Indianised Pant-Shirt type dress. I got to this .. when discussing about zippers in pants. Is there any such code among MEN, that I have missed, with which, this ZIPPER IS OPEN .. could be indicated, without hurting the feelings? how many WOMEN know of this SUNDAY, MONDAY part?

Hi consultrainer, Here in our country, we just say it as it is, "Your zipper is down," in our language, of course =). If I see a man and his fly is open, I'd let another man tell him the golden words rather than doing it myself. About women, we don't really have a dress code or something. Well, if we're going to the OFFICE, of course we should dress formal and I don't think I have encountered a bra strap incident myself or others at that kind of setting. We usually wear blazers over any top so there's no chance. If I happened to encounter one, I'd just tell her that her strap is out and that is, of course in an almost WHISPERING manner. When we go to the malls and other places, we can wear whatever we want and there's a big chance of not only unzipped pants and exposed bra straps, but also wardrobe malfunction which is the worsest of worse. Regarding the Sunday, Monday code, it's the first time I've heard of it. Thanks for bringing it up. A great Thursday evening rainbowink

Gaadida - pani pata leda? (Donkey dont you have any other work?) I know of this, but it was relating to slips rather than bra. :) I continue to wear Salwar Kameezes. I would look terrible in pants and shirts now, though I wore them for better part of my life. :) You are becoming quite like Sunny bunny!

Saturdays are always boring .. how is that?

Why do you think we got you married? You can clarify such things, and improve your general knowledge instead of killing flies on Saturdays!

Sunday Monday part is too long, when the bra strap is peeping out of blouse, Girls use the code 'POLICE' or 'COP'. My college girls used to understand this code word and insert the strap in their upper wear. Men understand the code ZIP and pull their zipper up. What is the code if womens private part is visible, I have seen such things many times in social gatherings.

They don't really use any code word as they can normally tell with the style of clothing that is popular where I live when there bra strap has moved that is of course if they are even wearing a bra or one that has straps. I live in the North West United States we are a very open city so there are a ton of different styles and yes males in my age group and older that are from or have lived in the North West United States do say those things to each other.

I don't know about this code and stuff among men or women but if ever I encounter or meet one who uses a code I think I might try to decipher it I have a short pants that got a problematic zipper and every time I walk a short distance it always opens without me noticing it. My friend frankly tells me that my zipper is open and I just scratch my head and say "there it goes again" Sometimes they just look at me and give me a sign.

oh dear dear short-pants. It is great that you don't seem to bother the open zippers. ... you meant to say, your friends and those around just look at you and give a sigh? ... anyhow, thanks for a frank response. Wish that the zippers really do come with a small buzzer, which self-seal.

well, I know how it would be, if the one who told you about the zipper being open is a FEMALE... :P all the best again!

If it isn't my friends who notice then it would be embarrassing for me but who cares I don't really know them and even if they would try to approach me and say my zipper is open I would just say "thank you and I'm sorry it's broken" and just give them a smile that would take their eyes off from that area

lol...thanks for reminding me. I had totally forgotten this!! But it was used for the petticoats or slips being longer than the dress we were wearing and not related to a bra. I'll have to ask my husband if men have any such codes. My son doesn't seem to have any yet....except going and whispering in his friend's ear that his fly is open...lol

Praise the Lord showing the inners is in fashion now! And anyway 'Sunday is longer than Monday' was only used if the slip was showing and not for anything else.

oh. I think, all the eager beaver guys and boys should be eagerly searching around, with all probing eyes, when they hear the sunday, monday being chanted. hahahahaha and, you have said it right. SHOWING the inners and showing the skin, which previously was not even exposed to sun. ... is FASHION now! ..

• India

sharad.. you have taken this as a kind of joke? ... it is not regarding the length of the day.. either sunday or monday.. it is about the slips and bra-straps and zippers ... enjoy! ..

I don't know about men but since I am an American woman who has always worn pants with zippers, let me share with you what we in my crowd always said when a zipper was open. "XYZ" aka "Check (X) Your (Y) Zipper (Z)". Of course, you know the difference between women's jeans and men's jeans, don't you? A woman can unzip her jeans without her brains falling out.

dear RAY .. of Alaska.. you have bowled me over. The next time I undress.. I will be very careful. but, I think, I WEAR my inners... quite strong, and holding everything inside. I had been thinking, ( and, get pain in the knees for that_ thinking part_) ... that all the mens brains are in the knees... ... and, you have made me brighter.. by suggesting that they are a bit higher up! ...

This is not known to me, but makes perfect sense. I have been asked about my 'pilot training' in relation to having one's flies open, or, equally cryptic 'holiday abroad?'

oh. it is surprising. I never heard of the two cryptic codes. PILOT TRAINING? i will tell that to my kids. they will enjoy this. And the other holiday part too. thanks memnon.
